German carmaker Audi has been so successful at addressing every conceivable gap in the market that it seems a month doesn’t go by without at least one new car launched with the famed four-ring badge.
By last count, Audi had no less than 19 different models and an eye-watering 182 variants to choose from - and there’s no sign that Audi’s roots will stop spreading anytime soon.
Oddly enough in this high-riding obsessed age, only three of those models were SUVs; the Q7, Q5 and diminutive Q3. Well, that’s about to change...

dont get why many people saying this is just a vw polo..... isnt it obvious that the q2 is much better looking than the polo for both exterior and interior? this q2 is modern and funky unlike those boring compact suv on the market. this new grey color is gorgeous as well. the design is very forward and audi has done a nice job in making an all new designed car without sacrificing any driving qualities or interior qualities. price is lower than q3 which is all good for young people to afford. i say this car is worth the money.

Love it! Got one myself now in exactly the same color, but with a sunroof making the top more in line with the front window in combination with private glass. Never had so much attention from people and questions.

Can't find any reason to choose Q2 over A3

For some there will be many reasons . First of all the compact crossover segment is getting highly popular . It might not feel like an SUV but it does have an elevated seating position and better visibility and funkier looks than the A3 or even the Q3 . It will be easier to get in and out for older people . It can attract some younger buyers who like the brand but got bored of the regular hatchback and the q2 is still somehow fun to drive and handles neatly . Anything new from a well trusted car maker will find its customers .

For me I'm 21 so getting insured on a decent suv is way too expensive but a car like this is possible to lease for me unlike the q5 & evoque, also I have a dog so I need a slightly bigger boot than a hatchback.

Q2 isnt really smaller than a Q3. Price gap is also relatively small. Its defintely not a whole different segment. This car doesn't really have competitors I think.. Why? The Q3 is the SUV version of the A3, but the Q2 is absolutely not the SUV version of the A1 (since that is tiny, and the Q2 helluvalot larger). I'd like to see it as a different variation of the Q3 in the midsize SUV market (midsize = VW Tiguan). The Q3 is for luxury and more conservative Audi buyers, the Q2 is a bit more basic but offers more trendiness to seduce younger buyers.

SUV stands for a utility vehicle for SPORTS( OUTDOOR) loving people -- NOT sporty as in a sports car. It's a vehicle for outdoor sports loving people to transport their surfboards or tow their Small boat or jet skis on the beach .....or go off road for a spot of fishing.This utility and versatility requires a good 4 wheel drive system with low range and locking gearbox and sufficient ground clearance. Any vehicle that doesn't have a 4 wheel drive, low range locking gearbox or sufficient ground clearance is clearly NOT an SUV.

Really the only Millenials with over 40K to spend on an Audi could be the so called Media Influencers , which by the way get this sort of cars in exchange of publicity . More a jacked-up A3 Sportback for the no so well-off soccer mom .
