Audi Q2 SUV in-depth review - Carbuyer

The Audi Q2 is a small SUV that's a premium alternative to cars like the Nissan Juke and Renault Captur, and one that's more youthful in appearance than the BMW X1 and Mercedes GLA. It boasts a range of efficient engines and an upmarket interior, so it's a shame there's not more space in the rear seats meaning practicality suffers. Performance and comfort is pretty good though.

I usually prefer Audi among the german brands, but here i would go for the GLA to be honest. Doesn't look like its up to Audi standard to me.

NikesZ28 I sadly have to agree for the most part, the main gripe for me is that for something that is supposed to be a premium car some of the materials look decidedly un-premium which is disappointing. That said I haven't seen one up close yet so who knows..

with adaptive damping, virtual cockpit, adaptive cruise control, hud, emergency breaking, torque vectoring, touchpad input, progressive steering etc etc etc is actually an unique offer on this segment, many brands in upper segments don t even have some of these things as optional. as always english reviews seriously lack in a lot of departments

this is no real audi to me, for the same money i get a renault talisman grandtour initiale paris fully equipped with dozens of things audi does not even offer in the q2 and in addition much more space, comfort and luxury.

Are they sure this is an Audi? :P :) I like that it has somewhat different styling to other Audis, although I wouldn't really say it looks good. Overall it really doesn't seem upmarket enough for an Audi.

I think these design variants need a new name, an A3 ( or even an A1 ) is probably more sporty, the boot is no more utility than most medium sized hatchbacks and it's a vehicle. So the only real practical difference is that you sit a bit more upright, it's quite attractive but the term SUV is a bit redundant, it's an expensive tall hatchback....

Looks like the UK Product Manager has underspec'd the UK base spec cars and/or the press office have shot themselves in the foot by giving you the SE! If they'd have given you a top of the range one you'd probably have complained about the suspension still but the rest of the car would have been up to what we would expect from Audi. As it is we're left thinking this is the very poor relation to the Kodiaq and the new Seat SUV.

Compare this to the new Peugeot 3008 and it looks like something from the design books a budget brand of 10 years ago. The German manufacturers are really getting duller and more dated by the day compared to the best of the Far East and rest of Europe, it's time people stopped buying on the name and outdated reputations and moved on I think...

Decent review again. Audi seems to be running out of ideas. Novel 'side blades' that remind me of a '70's vinyl roof, do not an avangarde design make. The design will date quickly but will sell well alas.

I've been a VW owner since mid 1970's - new every 2/3yrs. But all manufacturers are taking liberties!!! They claim to use more and more recycled materials - that's our OLD cars. They claim to use eco friendly or energy neutral factories - so no or low energy usage. My current Golf Mk7 has nice plastic in front and cheap hard plastic in the back - older models had nice plastic all round. But prices still go up and up....

Greg Martyn I was in a tyre dealer getting a puncture repaired. In walks a guy with a 3yr old Nissan Juke with damaged discs.... "How much to replace" he asked. "£2400 sir". Cheap car price, doesn't always mean cheap to run.

Not necessarily, I have 3 friends that drive jukes between 2 and 5 years old and no problems with anything. Dodgy discs could be down to the part or a bad driver/caretaker but that price sounds like you have a dodgy garage!

I'm an Audi driver and am a sucker for most things with the four rings on the grille, but this is utterly hideous. The back looks like a rip off of the Jeep Renegade (which, somehow, looks better than the Q2). Think Ingolstadt have maybe dropped the ball with this one.

***** some are actually standard and an extremely well equipped q2 will be cheaper than an evoque for example (i mean outside uk, i have no idea of prices in uk of evoque). the q2 its actually even the cheaper car you can get with any of these things! plus no brand sells these things cheap. and you don t need to buy all that. q2 its quite a unique offer.
