The trick with the b9 a4 is removing the rear mufflers and keeping all resonators
@clutchplays31098 ай бұрын
How so? Because i just got a b9 a4 and im wanting to get a little sound out of the exhaust but im not sure what to do
@gabrielg17495 ай бұрын
@@clutchplays3109Did you ever do anything? I’ve been looking to do the muffler delete but i cant find out a good way to do it. i would need to bend pipe but no muffler shop will do any type of muffler delete in NY state.
@GearsandcoАй бұрын
I absolutely agree, removing any res will make it sounds like your farting in a PVC pipe.

Dude I love it. I have a same car except both resonators off and mufflers and it pops so I can’t wait to hear it when it’s fully done

Me neither man I absolutely love the car so far it’s only got 40,000 miles on it so hopefully it’ll last us a while !

Nice video. Just did the same to my B9 A4. First impressions is that there’s an obnoxious rattle around 3-4k rpm. I have the same issue where the flex pipe is too close to the heat shield. That’s what I suspect is causing the rattle. Definitely a PITA to install.
@octane_media2 жыл бұрын
I don’t have it around 3-4 for me it’s just right above idle and it actually ended up being my exhaust hanger bolts. I definitely wouldn’t do it again if I didn’t plan on the IE stage 2 Tune
@dontriskett80982 жыл бұрын
@@octane_media You don’t get a loud drone/rattle on throttle at 3k? Mine rear resonator makes a rattle. I double checked all connections, nothing is loose or rubbing. I might do the ecs rear resonator delete.
@octane_media2 жыл бұрын
@@dontriskett8098 yeah I haven’t gotten that rattle atleast that I noticed I’ll pay more attention over the weekend and double check one thing over heard of is people rubbing on that crossmember / trans tunnel brace interfering with the exhaust with after market setups

I'm planing to do a muffler delete and also run catless but keep all the resonators so won't make the car sound raspy, Still planing on it. I might change my mind, there is literally no video that has Muffler delete and cattle's downpipe, so I would have the discover it my self. I had a Bow F30 328i and did a muffler delete with a hatless downpipes and sounded amazing, though I'm discovering that those VW/Audi 2.0T engines don't sound as good.

This was high flow cat, with a muffler delete and high flow cat it didn’t sound great at all in my opinion

How did you get the bottom bolt, closest to the firewall on the passenger side off, I tried with a wrench and I can’t get enough room. Do you have to go from underneath?
@octane_media2 жыл бұрын
I believe that’s the only one I had to go underneath for the top two I did with a wrench or a deep well socket on top of the motor it wasn’t fun climbing up there

This is going to sound silly, but I took my car to get my AWE Touring exhaust installed, and the guy nonchalantly planked on my engine bay and took it off in less than 5 minutes. He said he's done a few this way, and was not a stranger to awkwardly placed bolts. Try it this way if you don't have the extensions or wobble sockets to do it.
@octane_media2 жыл бұрын
@@houdavn that’s what I ended up having to do to get the ones for the down pipe off that probably wouldn’t have been a bad idea for the bottom bolts of the catalytic converter

I have been with zero issues I haven’t noticed any difference in drivability and I have put almost 2,000 miles on it since the install. A tune is soon to come as soon as I get an intercooler for it!

@@octane_media Oh okay, you should go with IE stage 1 it’s incredible I ran a 0-60 in 4.35 and reduced my 1/8th time by 1 sec. I got 8.313 @ 84mph and my previous without time was 9.334 @ 76mph

cant seem to get the 2 bottom bolts off (the bolt underneath and the bolt closest to the engine) did you use a 15mm deep socket and did you go from underneath or from the top
@bdez12592 жыл бұрын
You can do 3 bolts on top with a ratcheting 15mm wrench, the bottom bolt you approach from the bottom, using a 15mm deep socket, with multiple extensions till you find the sweet spot. Penetrating oil sure helps.
