I thought I'd posted this before, but this is definitely the #1 commentary team. Ian and Corey really compliment each other, are funny, and very knowledgeable about the courses, players and discs. Of all the KZbin videos, they have had the best commentary. I like hearing the players do commentary as well, but Ian and Corey have a real rapport and chemistry that makes the videos all the more enjoyable. I hope we get to hear more of them.

It's those putts. I counted well over 10 missed putts that could have put Paul way ahead of everyone else. Also, Ricky's Raptor run at the end, I swear, he almost beat the disc to the basket before it hit the chastity belt.

Ya i thought he karma fucked himself there. I love Ricky to death but not a fan of the running puts down, especially when they miss? Have a local guy now that does that all the time, and misses, it's really annoying and distracting.

i disagree 100% lol how is it a bad look? thats part of the suspense of tournament and hearing the crowd roar. learn how to put properly and maybe you would know what it feels like to run a 80ft put down after you jus banged it in front if 50 people and to tie the leader. we got some ricky haters up in the chat huh? 🤣🤣✋️🙄💯

Ian and Corey, thanks for all you do. your composition, editing and commentary are my favorite. The one request I have is to introduce commentary about tactics/risk-reward of the different placements on the card. While i prefer your commentary generally to other great pro-player commentary (especially your great decisions about how much to talk and when to be silent) Its super helpful to know what the players might be thinking when they are making certain throw decisions. some of the sexton and kolling commentary had done this really well. It might be having a player with you on the commentary or even just you speculating about it having been there. thanks so much! this was great coverage of a great tournament! ...almost as good as Champs v Chumps 4!

The hot putter is always the one who wins championships. In years past, it was Paul. Now, it's clearly Ricky. I'd hoped that Simon would step up, and he did for a while, but I think Jonesboro Hole #16 really did some mental damage to his putting game.

It's Paul and Ricky on their own level. With Simon just behind; Eagle and Big Germ needing that little something extra to click for them to lift trophies regularly. But what's amazing to me is how fast since I first started watching the amount of world class players are no longer a real threat to win. And I like and respect these guys - but think of Schusterick, Doss, Ulibarri, Steve Rico, The Professor, The Champ and Nico. Are any of these guys truly a threat to win anymore? 2 maybe 3 guys have rendered the rest of the pro field as being filler. It will be interesting to see how or if the game evolves to produce deeper fields. Golf on!

I agree. I've been watching DG on KZbin for a long time now and there used to be so much variety on the lead cards. But now it's just different. The top tier of the top MPO players are SO driven. They are a different breed, but like someone else commented before, it's only taking the sport in a new direction. It's not a bad thing, but I miss seeing some of my players. It is exhilarating to think about the direction that the sport is heading though. Paul and Ricky are really pioneers since the Champ... next level players that it is just as cool to see them get beaten as it is to see them win because when they get beaten (not lose because they play poorly), but get beaten because they were outplayed, it means someone else is rising up. Others will follow. Perhaps and hopefully some of our old faves.

Yep. In such a close match, he can't miss anywhere near that many 20'-30' putts. Unlucky the one in round three then rolled OB, but that's why you need to make it in the first place. If those two are neck-and-neck in World's next week, it's going to put so much pressure on McBeth's putting.
@Sleepyhouse420
@Sleepyhouse420 7 жыл бұрын
I think Paul's defeating himself. If you watch recent past tournaments he does fine when Ricks not on the card. No rick at de le -15. First few rounds here no rick. Theres more example but you get my idea. And during this final round there was a few times rick hit huge putts and paul missed shorter ones after then showed visual frustration. He went front being untouchable and on a streak to having someone beat him so yeah I'd say Paul's beating himself just as much as Rick's beating him. Not to minimize Ricky's success because I was on the "Ricky train" a few years before he won worlds so I didn't hop on as soon as he won. I kept rooting for him to beat Paul.

the straddle stance seems less dependable for him. I wonder what he insists on using it so much. the straddle looks natural and comfortable for Barsby or Barry Shultz, but not for Paul. imho

At De Laveaga, after he built up his big lead he tried going back to his old putting style and was not making them. So, it seems like he is not sold on sticking with the straddle style for the long term.
