MotoMan drives the 2017 Bentley Mulsanne Speed in Southern Germany and Austria. However, to demonstrate the importance of the engineering changes, he swaps the hot rod version of the 2017 Bentley Mulsanne - the Bentley Mulsanne Speed - for the 2017 Bentley Mulsanne Signature. In doing so he unpacks the go fast bits assembled here - like larger bushings and adjustable engine mounts - and their very different purpose in the 2017 Bentley Mulsanne - all the while on the very wet roads of Austria. But as much as he tries to focus on driving dynamics, MotoMan couldn’t help but let his inner frustrated designer come out to discuss the details . . . After all, this is a Bentley . . .

I sure do like your videos. Absolutely very well thought out and put together. The choice between the two is a no-brainer; it would be the speed. I would use it for long road trips, as opposed to around town. And the fuel efficiency of the speed isn't about the cost of gas, it's about how often you have to stop to refill.

Stone inlay in your veneer is cool. I too am a sucker for quality diamond quilting, especially in Bentleys. I'd have the Speed because I wouldn't have a chauffeur. And I'd use it for circumnavigating the globe.

I'd take the speed, the luxury is impeccable in both variants, both have an ample amount of horse power but the extra torque is what gets me, more effortless acceleration is a big part of luxury cars, that wood trim was beautiful but very curious about the stone finish

Great review,, i would choose the base model i like comfort riding and to be honest am not actually spend ((extra )) money to get 1 or 2% of sport performance. The second thing , in base model the focus on comfort and luxury which is I preferred. This car is huge not just big . So i wonder where you will use the ( mulsane SPEED) features 😂😂

Which car? Mulsanne Speed. Why? I'm a car geek like many people who regularly watch MotoMan's channel and it's special on top of special. Also, let's repeat, "eight-hundred and eleven pounds feet of torque". Use: Road trips, going for a drive, and show off to friends who has the biggest wheelbase.

As a car geek I feel like I appreciate cars that are specialists...cars that can do one thing extremely well and better than anything else. On that note, I would not want to buy an ultra-luxury sedan with performance driving in mind, so I'd have the normal premier version. That being said, I wouldn't buy the Bentley at all, I'd rather have a Rolls Royce Ghost since that is more geared towards ultra-luxury.

I would pick the "Speed" model over the "base" model because I like the power and the road performance. I would definitely use it for driving. As all Bentleys should be used.

If I was driving it, I would get the Speed and daily drive it. I'd also use it to drive from one of my homes to another. If I was being chauffeured I'd get the Premier or Extended Wheel Base versions.

I am waiting for the next gen Continental GT, but if I were to pick a Mulsanne, the regular one makes more sense as you are supposed to have at least a couple of sportscars for the cornering/adrenalin stuff already in your box. Plus it looks more like the real thing aka the Rolls-Royce sedan from Bentley.

This is NOT AT ALL related to the A8. Absolutely zero. This is more related to older Rolls Royces than any current VW Group product.

With respect tend to disagree, i have owned a few a8's and one GT ; The control-arm front suspension of the new Mulsanne, for instance, is shared with the Audi A8, and the control-arm rear layout comes from the Audi A6 Avant. The HVAC system is an A8 unit, and there is shared electrical architecture with other VW cars, but otherwise, the Mulsanne is all Bentley, designed and built at the company’s spiritual home of Crewe in northern England. kind regards

If I could afford such a vehicle : P I would pick the non-speed model. There is no point in buying such a luxo-barge and not have the suspension super comfortable all the time in all driving modes. If you want speed buy a sports car that is inherently designed to give you thrills.

It takes a lot of guts to set up a media\press drive in your rival's backyard…. I know you dislike the rain, but a Wet Mulsanne Speed in that incredible Blue paint is …. Lord Have Mercy! The Lord Is My Shepherd & He Knows What I Want!!! I love all the changes they did to Mulsanne …. Especially the front end! But Retractable Screen > Fixed Touchscreen. Speaking of Stone inserts, yea …. Not a fan, they use too much lacquer for it & give it a bad look. On a side note, Mercedes actually used to offer just that in the W220 …. It was a $60,000 dollar option (Yes, a 6 & four zeros lol). I'll definitely pick the Speed…. It'd be almost identical to the blue one, but with few changes, what about you? I know you'll pick the Speed, but how would you spec it? As always, Excellent work M!

I would agree . . . Kudos to Bentley for picking that spot. For me, I think it would be that Sequin Blue Speed. Still torn if I would go for that dark blue/linen two tone interior or go with a more traditional saddle with contrasting colors and stitching. Definitely would do the sunroof and some sort of funky wood option like that Liquid Amber. For me, I would have them retrofit the older grille to the car.

Cool! For me I'd have them retrofit the previous retractable screen with the cover, I can live without the touch screen. The other thing is the Flying B... As much as I love it, it doesn't retract all the down like Lady Ecstasy & remain half in, half out ... It ain't pretty. As if the actuators broke down halfway through (Insert Lucas joke here)
