Vortex there are people who don't care about cars at all some people see it as a big deal seeing a $200k car but.. when I was in flight school I saw multi-million dollar private owned jets every single day but no one really cared I mean I did but then eventually I didn't care at all and thought flying was incredibly boring and requires too much focus and attention to actually enjoy doing deviating off certain ranges would mean termination from the program resulting in massive debt w/ no job so I had to stop

Most convincing new platform Bentley of the "new ear", post 2002. The engine really makes this car, the fact that it is still very recognisable as the original Rolls Royce engine - an engine designed by the people behind legendary engines like the Merlin in the Spitfire and the Olympus in Concorde - shows was a fantastic design that engine is. I just wish it had floor mounted pedals and the floor level with the top of the sills. And a fuel gauge that doubles as an oil level gauge. And a choice of different horns at the flick of a switch. Those features, still present on the Continental R up until 2002, would have been the icing on the cake with the Mulsanne.

I love luxury cars, partly because they are amazing to travel in. But also because you get a lot of value for money... When you buy a Ferrari for 252,000$ you get an engine, a gearbox and a light body, maybe without a roof but that's it. In the bentley you get a huge torque monster engine, a super luxury interior and exterior, huge dimensions and really more value for money...

Outstanding car review video! I didn't know the Mulsann was such a great everyday driving car. Personally, im not a Bentley type of guy. I was considering trying the Continental GT Speed, but now after seeing this and really wrapping my mind around the concept of a Bentley, it may be one of my car choices as far as car brands go. All in all, great car review video. Im subscribing for sure!

The control-arm front suspension of the new Mulsanne, for instance, is shared with the Audi A8, and the control-arm rear layout comes from the Audi A6 Avant. The HVAC system is an A8 unit, and there is shared electrical architecture with other VW cars

Hello! Congratulations on the video. Moving on, I would like to know a detail here: on some websites, it states that the Mulsanne Speed version has a maximum power of 530 HP @ 4000 rpm and a maximum torque of 811 b-ft @ 1750 rpm. On the other hand, other sites mention 530 HP generated from 3500 to 4200 rpm, while the maximum torque of 811 lb-ft ranges from 1750 to 3250 rpm. Which information is correct? Or has there been any regulation change depending on the year and model of each Mulsanne? Thanks in advance, looking forward to your response.

Fantastic machine. It might just be the ones I have seen but many of these Mulsannes appear to be leaving the factory in strong colours. Says a lot about their owners that resale silver and the other Audi / Merc monochrome options are rarer.

Am I alone in thinking that for being such luxurious vehicles, Bentleys aren't that great-looking. Don't get me wrong, I do absolutely not think they look bad. They look good, but just not THAT good. Does anyone agree? Classic Bentleys on the other hand though. That is eye-candy! :)

811 pound feet in a petrol car is pretty nuts for something that is supposed to be uber classy. Many modified mustangs don't make that power without some crazy forced induction.

Enormous under-stressed engine means it just doesn't need to rev any higher because the power band is low

I dont understand this car has 530 BHP and does 0-62 in 4,6 second ( 2685 KG) while the gallardo (spyder) has 520 BHP and does 0-62 in 4 seconds... ( 1410 KG). How is this possible the Mulsanne is 1275 KG heavier then the gallado and only 0,6 seconds slower with the little advatage of 10 HP. Please someone explain it to me....

I imagine the extra weight will help traction. (Really light cars suffer from a lot of wheelspin.) Plus this has huge amounts of torque.

derbigpr500 Yes i have but that doesnt necessarily means its faster. A truck can have 2500 NM but still it gets beat by a car with way less NM ( Torque)

Jacinto Reign maybe it depends on a variety of things like when the torque peaks and how the gears are spaced out. if a car has peak torque really low in the rev range (maybe between 1,000 to 3,000 RPM) then it'll get a head start for acceleration. And if the gears are spaced closely, the gearbox will be able to keep the car moving along with linear power. The Bentley seems to have a lot of torque in the low rev range and the gearbox probably keeps the engine revving at the "sweet spot" every time. I'm not a mechanic but that's just my guess! I bet the lambo feels really fast on the highway though since it doesn't seem to be a good 0-60 car. Maybe it's a better 60-100 car.

Top end Audis, BMWs, Merc and even Jags are all like expensive, luxury city apartments... Bentleys and Rollers are palaces by comparison. As lovely as the Audis, BMWs & Mercs are, they are as common as muck, A8s/S8s, 7Series and S-Classes are EVERYWHERE. Even the most aspiring of working/middle class doesn't understand Bentleys and Rollers. I do think though, it is sacrilegious to have carbon-fiber trim in the interior of a Bentley. I'd expect elephant ivory or rare turtle shell trim with seal pup leather upholstery.

My grandfather (who used to drive a Rolls Royce) used to take great pleasure in stating that "Bentley drivers where the type of people who didn't have the guts to drive a Rolls Royce". Of course that was back in the 1960s and 70s when the Bentley and the Rolls Royce were very similar cars indeed. These days, the ownership of Bentleys is left to the tender mercies of the likes of blinged up Hollywood dickheads and cashed up potentates and hamburger eating yobs..
