Mr Mark has been waiting ages to take out the 2017 BMW F800 GS Trophy and he got the chance in this video.
In the pouring rain, he rides and talks about how he finds the bike and what he thinks of it.

The lack of a fuel gauge after several years of these being available ...still blows my mind. Seems like a small thing, but its kept me from getting one. That and though I`m ready for a change, my 2015 GSA is proving hard to let go of ...out of all the bikes I have and have had, its still brilliant. BTW, for me anyway the TKC-80`s are the only way to go. They do wear quickly, around 2800 on the rear, they`re still the most confidence inspiring tire combo I`ve run.

Much cheaper and more fun then the regular GS imo. I could easily "tour" for 3 weeks on this bike arround the european alps. Depends how much comfort you need really :). Oh and i could definitely use this bike all year round, and i live in Norway :). Great interview and Cornwall looks nice!

Hiya, its a good bike and on a Magellan Motorcycles Tour of Norway last summer (2017) we had a chap on a NineT. Five thousand miles in 21 days...

Best KZbin video intro ever 😂. The ABS comment is controversial 😱, personally I wouldn't buy a bike without it, in an emergency situation I want all the assistance I can have. No matter how experienced a biker is if they panic they will grab a handful of brake. Fantastic looking bike.

+DervMan very true matey. Always good to rely on extra kit but it's also good to feel what it's like without it too (not in an emergency) but hoping onto new and then to old bikes it can be surprising if you haven't ridden a bike without abs before. Better to be safe than sorry ;)

fair point about the hugger. If you buy a £17K GS , its 100% necessary to buy a mud sling and front mudguard extender.... ( maybe even a replacement seat )

It's £10,500 - £11,200,not £17,000. Very poor understanding of bike by rider. Doesn't know cost, takes ages to understand fuel warning, presumes tyres poor in wet (wrong), gets its name wrong. In fact constantly says "I don't know....."

£17000 ? try £10650 for the base model and £11330 for the Urban G/S X version you were riding !

+OnALostHighway surprisingly good given that it has big knobbly tyres on. Although not as comfortable as normal tyres. :)

It's a clever way of marketing their product. Buy the basic bike, count on you buying so called accessories that come standard on other bikes. Didn't put me off buy this bike, love it 100%. Only BMW can make ugly beautiful, lol. Cheers from down under.

RiderCamTV The thing I like about the bike is, its simple, no bells & whistles, just a basic bike. The essential items I'm adding to the bike are a wunderlich smoked front screen that attaches to the white head light wind deflector, engine protectors & one panier carry bag that attaches to the opposite side of the exhaust pipe.

RiderCamTV it’s more just a retro thing. It’s not ment to have great weather protection and a big rear mudguard . If you want a bike for all seasons buy a gs. And yes your right you could use it all year round but that’s not what it’s designed for.

Agreed it’s a Summer bike. You could use it all year round but it’s not got a lot of wet weather protection for crappy UK winters. I’ve tried all flavours of this bike and loved the Urban GS the most
