2017 BMW R1200GS TE First Impression / Review

Thanks to the BMW Blade Motorrad dealer in Birmingham I got to have a test ride on this wonderful R1200GS TE!

Fairly informative video thanks Chris but you might want set an example and take note of double white lines next time & also wait for people about to cross before riding through Zebra crossings (lady on right side).

Gazza912 Thanks! No worries... yeah point taken on the white lines. But as for the zebra crossing, she was still on the pavement lol... law States you only have to stop if a pedestrian has put their foot onto the crossing. If they even just stand at the crossing you don't have to stop (which I would Obviosuly) but she hadn't even started to enter from the other side of the road yet. Couple of things: 1. The guy was still on the crossing when you went over it. An offence. 2. It’s a shame, you were too impatient to let the lady cross, unlike the car driver.

The petrol cap will open without the ignition switched on,as long as you still have the key fob.

Yes the bike was absolutely brilliant but it's not cheap, one of those things tho 'you get what yoy pay for' and if someone was looking into investing in one of these sorts of bikes I definitely think this is worth saving up for. You can feel top quality in everything you operate with it and the ride is pretty damn good! lol... I was so surprised with the handling! As always thank you so much for watching and your comment!! chameleon Yes there are plenty of brilliant 2nd hand bikes! If brand new is too much then you will be able to find a pre owned one no problem. BMW do some great finance deals on new bikes tho...

Hi! Im not to sure as the BMW dealer used to give me bikes to test and this was som years ago. Not my bike. Best thing to do is have a check on Google 👍🏻👍🏻

The video would’ve been better if you’ve done a bit of prep and homework on the bike beforehand. What was particularly disappointing was the number of offences and inconsiderate riding e.g. overtaking over a double line, speeding and crossing a zebra crossing when the pedestrian was still on the crossing. BMW Motorad should not be allowing their bikes to be promoted in this manner.

Take it you didn't watch the video 😂 the bike was a lend while getting a service so there would have been no time for 'homework'. When BMW used to lend him the bikes untill the dealership closed down he didn't know what they were giving him till he got there. Hence the information overlays if needed. Yes next time he should have waited 20 metres to reach the lines you could see down the clear straight road before overtaking on the double whites 🙄 Are you sure you didn't just copy what that other person put in the comment you replied with? Oh dear man 😅🤣

@@shanewhitehouse4171 Shane, Thank you for the information, and for explaining why the reviewer, Chris did not research the bike before the test ride. You suggest that the video wasn't watched, because I was unaware that the bike was a lend, while his own bike was being serviced. He states his appreciation of the test rides BMW Blade have given him, but I believe he makes no mention of them being lends while his bike is serviced. The main reason for posting a comment was because of the numerous offences during the test ride: speeding, overtaking on double white lines and going over a zebra crossing when a pedestrian was still on the crossing.
