It gets pretty expensive for a x3 as you point out with options, would you recommend a X3 35i with some options or just to go up to a base X5? Thanks.

It really depends on if you need the extra room or want a bigger vehicle. Now that the 6-cyl X3 is the X3 M40i with 355hp/369tq it’s significantly more powerful than a base X5 with 300hp/295tq and much faster due to its smaller size. I would probably still pick an X5 because I like having a bigger vehicle but the X3 M40i is tempting (and probably more fun to drive).

Your vehicle is equipped with the $1500 X-lIne Pkg., $950 Driver Assistance Pkg. (#1), $750 Surround View Camera System, $3,200 Premium Pkg. (#1) ($1,450 Nevada Leather & $1,350 Panoramic Moonroof Included), and the $950 Cold Weather Pkg. (#1) ($500 Heated Front Seats Included). This is the most oddly equipped X3 i've ever seen. It clearly prioritizes creature comforts and style over technology. This X3 stickers right under $52k at $51,845. From previous experience and local inventory most people don't opt for the X-Line styling package because it's quit the price. Usually the most basic configurations include: Driver Assistance Pkg., Panoramic Moonroof, and Heated Front Seats. Those "Necessity Base Models" sticker at $45,845 plus $700 if they want metallic paint/anything except non-metallic "Alpine White" or "Jet Black." If they wanted Navigation add $1.950 to that "Base Model" price bringing you to $47,795 with non-metallic paint. Coming from an iPhone/Apple user I would opt for the $300 option for Apple CarPlay compatibility (only available on Navigation equipped Models), which incorporates Apple IOS onto the iDrive screen. Another option only available with the Navigation system is the $400 Wireless Charging and WIFI Hotspot. When opted for this feature there is a pocket on the inside wall of the center console is a wireless charging sleeve that will wirelessly charge your compatible device, even thought the iPhone 7's and before do not offer this feature there are a lot of affordable options to enable these features. Of Course BMW offers a Wireless Charging Case for the iPhone 6/6s which is a whopping $75. Usually the "Navigation Equipped Base Model" is popular, A relative of mine recently purchase a "Navi Base Model," but also added Metallic Paint, and the $1700 Driver Assistance Plus Package, which added Blind Spot, Monitoring, Speed Limit Info, Active Driving Assistant: (Lane Departure Warning, Forward Collision Warning, Pedestrian Warning, and City Collision Migration), and the Surround View. Their car had a measly sticker of $50,195, which is still under what you tester was. That configuration is quite rare, but others usually trade the Driver Assistance Plus Pkg. for the Premium Pkg. the Premium Pkg. (#1) adds the Panoramic Moonroof, Satellite Radio (with 1yr subscription), Comfort Access, Lumbar Support, and the choice of Nevada Leather color (Black, Beige Oyster [White], Saddle Brown [lighter brown], Mocha [darker brown], and Ivory White) if you opt for the X-Line like shown you'll have the option to get exclusive X-Line stitched leather. since you have the real Nevada Leather, not he synthetic Black Sensatec you can get the Cold Weather Pkg. (only with real leather) which added Rear Heated Seats (outboard only), Headlight Washer Jets, and a Heated Steering Wheel. You can also get the $700 Cold Water Pkg. (#2) which has everything on the Cold Weather Pkg. (#1), except rear heated seats, this package also is also available with not only the real leather, but also the synthetic Sensatec seats. Sensatec is only available in Beige or Black in the X3. A new package that was introduced midway through 2017 was the $2,050 Premium Pkg. (#3) which is the Premium Pkg., but without Nevada leather. A "Mid-Range model" which is mostly popular, at least in my area would have the Driver Assistance Pkg. (#1), Premium Pkg. (#1), Cold Weather Pkg. (#1), Navigation System, Apple CarPlay Compatibility, and Metallic Paint. These usually go for near $51,095. Sorry(for)/Enjoy the spam.... Message back for any questions! #TMI?

You r car doesn't even have navigation. It's not worth the sticker price at all.

they are around 26k nowadays..Navigation is overrated because you can use google maps
