it looks like this frame is stiff, and can take major abuse. 1:12I suggest upgrading to Revgrips, cus those grips only last me 4 weeks before they get too soft and replacing them so often gets expensive. I got a review on my site of both grips. I also suggest oval chainring, it it eliminates that dead zone when your gearing gets heavier in the pedal stroke, it will also help you on climbs, as you are less likely to spin out in too light gear or struggle in a too heavy gear. it has eliminated knee pain for me, also I recommend Pedalling innovations Catalyst pedals for mid foot position, and supported arch for stability. there is plenty of information about these two products and why they make sense, but I confirm they make sense and work as intended, and are a must on any bike I ride.

Check out my other vids, it can handle anything u throw at it. Been a great bike! Thanks for the info but I’m not really interested in spending more on upgrades for this bike. This bike is by no means perfect but has been a GREAT starting point for more aggressive mtb. Maybe on the next one. Thanks for watching!

@@HardTailHero I understand, bu of course you can always transfer parts over, to new build, that's what I will do, but of course if you go for coloured chain ring and grips it might not fit the look.

Yessir! It’s been real difference maker on the trails! How’s the mason 2 holding up for u?

Great review! I appreciate the hard work in getting all those 3rd person shots. My girlfriend has the Mason Pro and I'm super upset she rides a small frame and I'm a large because I love that bike. I have a Diamondback Fat Bike and it's beyond legit!
@HardTailHero6 жыл бұрын
Thanks a ton man! I bet the Pro is pretty sick! The fat bikes look like a blast too tho! It’s been eye opening having plus tires. I’m sure the extra squish is fun!!

Yeah mine has the 5" tires. It's nuts! I just subscribed to your channel! Look forward to seeing more.

Anybody have a thru axle end nut for the rear or where to get one? My dropped out and cant find one anywhere. A simple part makes the whole bike useless.

Good to see you back! Keep the vids coming, wish i could get decent footage to post. The trails looks like alot of fun! This summer i took my mason comp to copper harbor, Mi. Was a total noob but had fun anyway!

Would you give 550 used for one of these today with a ks dropper post? Looking into riding again and one of these popped up near me.
@HardTailHero4 жыл бұрын
Depending on how “used” it is, I would say that’s not far off. I can attest to it’s quality and longevity, if taken care of properly of course. Main points would b to look at the forks (still move freely, no weird noises), next the drive train (make sure it shifts thru all the gears smoothly), make sure the wheels r mostly straight when u spin them (no large wobbles). Definitely try to ride it around just enough to make sure it fits and is ridable. Everything else can b easily fixed or replaced for not much money, given it’s working enough to ride (I.e. handlebars, pedals, cranks all in one piece). I hope this helped! Sorry for the lengthy response. Thanks for watching!

You didn't change the paddles, I'm surprised, that's the first thing that gets changed on every bike... And those green grips placed on them handle bars really hurt my feelings man, you should've went with a light blue to match the bike, but hey it's what makes you happy and that's what's important... Thanks again my man...👍
@HardTailHero6 жыл бұрын
Lol I totally feel u on the green. Honestly I felt like my whole kit was some variation of blue so I went a totally different direction! I’m not really feeling it either tho. Probably back to black! 🤘🤘 Pedals have actually been really good! I started to replace them for aesthetics, but decided to wait. And they’ve held up super well so far. Thanks for watching! 🙏🙏

Love my Mason 1. Pretty only left stock are the handle bars, frame, and wheel set. I got as much into as a mason 2 but with a inferior frame and some of my components are better but still.... Why did they change the frame from the Mason trail, mason pro, mason 2 to the Mason 1? It hasn't hindered me at all but having a inferior frame will always be at the back of my mind. Why didn't I just buy a mason 2? Medium was sold out and I didn't feel like waiting till next year. I would rather be riding.
@HardTailHero6 жыл бұрын
I totally understand that decision. That’s sorta how I ended up where I did with the mason trail. Initially I was looking at a totally different bike (different company) but they were sold out. Honestly, it will probably always be there in ur mind but u just have to take that into consideration when deciding if /when u should try something u might be worried about. As far as standard trail riding, u should be ok for the most part. I’m not really sure y exactly they rebranded the names of the mason line, but it probably had more to do with selling more bikes than it did with anything tangible. Thanks for watching and keep shredding amigo!

I don't think DiamondBack is sold in Norway any more after 2007, first and last diamond back I saw in real life was 2007 Diamondback Response Comp in gold. but they were years ago in super market Coop OBS, saw some in cold brownish color. also some models seemed to be rebranded by DBS bikes from Gsport stores like the Dbs Freeride 029( Diamondback Strike)
@HardTailHero6 жыл бұрын
Hmmm that’s interesting. Yea I’m not too sure if they r shipped to Norway. There r def a ton of other good bikes nearing that price range tho. The industry is really coming around to build more affordable options that still shred!

@@HardTailHero I am more interested in some other brands anyway, and it has to be full suspension bike with long reach, good tyre clearance so far I am interested in Nicolai and Pole. most brands won't fit me well or offer what I want, I like steep seat tube angle, slack head angle, stability, long reach that fits me, bars to be high. I haven't looked into diamond back i na while, but don't think they offer what I want. but their seat tube angle is pretty decent.

Hi, could you please tell me why you have 2 different tyres? Is it for performance/traction. Its both maxxis but the other one is dhf II. Thanks! Keep up the good vids!.
@HardTailHero6 жыл бұрын
They r both actually the same tire basically. Both r “minions” but maxxis makes a front and rear specific tire for the “minions”. DhR = rear dhF = front. I’m not sure if people run two “front” or two “rears” but it may not matter as they r basically the same. Thanks for the question and thanks for watching!
