i dont know why anybody has not told you this but the bike Jay had on the show was the ducati XDIAVEL not the regular DIAVEL. you got the wrong bike

Not quite the bike for me, TOG...I'll stick to my flat-footing cruisers!...LOL. You were very lucky at the end when you stalled at the road junction.. With handlebars turned to the right and front brake held slightly on, ready for the move to the right, and then the bike stalls is a recipe for tipping the bike down onto its side!...Been there a couple of times...got the Tee-shirts! My painfully learnt tip: Only apply the front brake when the handlebars and the bike are pointed straight ahead! ...but you recovered well, TOG, an all was not lost....so no embarrassment and serious expense (someone else's bike!) involved! Bike stalling when on the turn is always worrying!...Take care!

Yeah, that's how I dropped my first bike. Someone cut me off as I was pulling out of a parking lot, and I hit the front break and bike went down. Never again, since then (knock on wood), and am pretty good at recovering from mishaps.

I've had a lowered Warrior for 14 years. I have short legs. I have both feet flat on the ground when stopped. I test rode a 2017 Diavel Carbon today, and I have both feet flat on the ground with the Diavel, too. I was very surprised, I thought it was much higher. The seat sits low in the bike, it's deceptive how low it is. Made an offer on the Diavel, we'll see if it gets accepted.

It looks so top heavy with those air collectors on the side. Looking down it looks 3 feet wide lol.

Not so much top heavy, but just in terms of looks it was intimidating. It was low enough to the ground, and combined with the more upright riding position, it felt fine.

I considered this bike, briefly. I was pretty sure that it would kill me (when I did something stupid). Beautiful bike though.

Yeah, I love the blacked out look on bikes, and this one kills it. The model I like though is the XDiavel S, and that one's way out of my price range. I'd love to give the diesel one a whirl, just for kicks.

Joe Glenn first bike after passing my test they are mean but very respectful and hell off a lot of fun. Specially leaving most sport bike for dust

Learn the gear shifting of a bike by watching some videos before getting on one and killing it. You almost dropped that Diavel, chief. Diavel's are first gear, 1-20mph, Second - 20-35mph, Third- 35+-55, Fourth 55-75mph.

Believe it or not, I do know how gears work. 😉 I had not downshifted into 1st when I stopped, so I killed it. Thanks for sharing, though, for those who might not know! 🤓

Still luv the sounds of the Duc engines, but they haven't made much that's appealed to me lately. They're either too tall or too racy or too ugly or have bad ergos or with the Scramblers, just made out of cheap componentry. I rode them for 8 years when they made them with passenger accommodations and luggage and better colors. imgur.com/9KGguHL imgur.com/a/RCAUX Still root for them on race day. Thanks for the burble down memory lane. After having those Harley auto canceling signals, it's hard to go back eh?

Yeah, the sound is definitely alluring. I also heard for the longest time that they weren't reliable, but the same has been said about Harley, and I've never had issues (knock on wood). It was definitely fun to ride, but I would shy away from this model, in particular, because of the price tag. I've been wanting to try one since I saw it on Jay Leno, though, so it was a really cool experience.

TOG: You should hear an older one with a dry clutch. Exhaust note is the same, but with a loud rattle over it that makes everyone think that it's about to grenade. I used to have a shirt back then that said "Ducati - Loud clutches save lives!"

You don't do it justice. Quite disappointed about this.

Please, expound on what you’re disappointed about. It will be helpful to me, and anyone who might be also disappointed. Thanks!

This was a test ride with a dealer rep leading the way, on a brand new bike. I'd like to be able to go back to this place and test ride more bikes. Thanks for watching.
