Jeffery Todd And the l5p is the best duramax you can buy as well
@ChuckBeefOG7 жыл бұрын
Anthony Joubran No it's not. The pre- tier 4 emissions versions were the best. LBZ was the best version of this engine. Easy to tune, delete DPF. No DEF bullshit.
@JohnDiMartino7 жыл бұрын
Gilbert McGillicutty I still think the Lb7 is way better,LBZ is an emission engine cat,and egr,and lousey pistons that crack,even on stock or mildly tuned engines. If GM hadn't cheapened the engine with made in China pistons and kept Mahle like the Lb7/ LLY they'd had the best Duramax for sure.
@anthonyj8107 жыл бұрын
Gilbert McGillicutty Horsepower and torque wise it isn't. Also a tad bit better on MPG and seeing how it's a completely new design any issues from before are likely fixed now.
@ChuckBeefOG7 жыл бұрын
John DiMartino. Didnt know they swapped pistons for that year. My work truck LBZ has efi live and makes probably close to 500hp on freak mode. No issues powertrain wise in 150,000km. The problem with the LB7/LLY is internal injectors, expensive and a pain in the ass to do. I have a work truck 05 LLYin stock form. Bought in new in 05 and it has 430,000km on it now. Head gasket is on its way and will need injectors at the same time. Havent touched it other than front end parts and body work. Truck is close to death but if i can find parts cheap enough i would like to see the truck do 700,000km, which it easily would.

that was literally the best cold start I have ever seen! and done with the remote no less
@DEVUNK887 жыл бұрын
they may be, but I have seen much worse, I'd be happy with that, it was a bit choppy at idle though
@chrisdellwo69867 жыл бұрын
Keep in mind this thing was in very negative cold weather and hadn't been started for some time. It's pretty solid. The duramax has been a beast for years starting every plow day and time I had a customer want to look at one regardless of the temp
@dylaanokay29807 жыл бұрын
For all the chevy,dodge,and Ford fans the trucks are basically the same now... It just comes down which one looks better, and rides better to you. They all get the job done so do me a favor and quite saying that a certain trucks breaks down....
@twis7edashice1066 жыл бұрын
I have to agree with you on that good one bro
@atx-cvpi_993 жыл бұрын
Ford is still considered the worst diesels you can buy. The 6.7 is better than the 6.0 and 6.4.
@bullymaguire44572 жыл бұрын
@@atx-cvpi_99 That 6.0 was a real workhorse, we had one at work and man that truck took a beating like a champ.
@sethberringer87932 жыл бұрын
Not even close to being the same. But I will agree they are way more reliable now then they where 10-20 years ago. But they still will break down, they still have problems, each have they're own specific issues
@JimmieABES2 жыл бұрын
@@atx-cvpi_99 Far from the truth man. 6.7 rivals the 6.7 Cummins reliability

My lmm starts about the same at negative 30! Gotta love duramax. I've never had to plug one in. My lly was the same way too

Hello there, could I use a part of your video for my cold-starting compilation? of course I put a link to your original video in the description, increasing the original’s popularity too. Thank you for answer in advance :)

Do the new durmaxs not have the coils? I have Ford f250 6.4 and my truck def would not be starting in -10 a less i had it plugged in.
@ChuckBeefOG7 жыл бұрын
David Thornberry Ford does next to nothing for cold testing. The have a refrigerated building the test to minus 10c. GM tests in Kapaskasing, North Ontario. -30c all winter. My 6L Ford wont start plugged in when its -25. My duramax will light right up not plugged in. Trucks will become accustomed to starting with a block heater if you use it too often. I only plug in at -20 and colder for the Chevys. The Ford is always plugged in.

I bought the 18 3500 dually yes it was 70,000 dollars but its worth every penny, i love the truck and its a little noisy cold i live in michigan but its the quietest diesel on the market and with 440 hp and 910 ft lbs of torque it pulls my 36 ft 5 th wheel like its a utility trailer . Chevy out performs dodge and ford uphill, downhill and flatland

Chris Sucharda I hope they never add those push buttons to their trucks
@MsMexicandude7 жыл бұрын
Chris Sucharda turning the key is the best part about starting a truck. Maybe for a car, it’s not as exciting but when I think of trucks, i think of solid, strong, and tough. Not luxury and simple.

Cuz it’s a truck , that stuff I think should stay on SUV’s or fancy cars

I'm new to this,. The sound this truck is making.. it sounds like it's about to kill the engine
@T_L_7 жыл бұрын
Ruben Guzman diesel's don't run as smooth when cold. That's why people with diesel trucks will usually (and should) let them warm up 10-15 mins before driving anywhere if it's real cold outside. I had an old chevy 6.5 diesel that was incredibly loud when cold. Now I have an 01 Cummins that's almost deafening when cold and stick your head under the hood.
@andrewdhunter155 жыл бұрын
That pinging sound is fuel knock. Diesel fuel is more viscous than gasoline and gels when it's really cold. So that sound it cold fuel being shot into a dry piston until the engine warms enough to liquify the fuel. In basic terms
@twis7edashice1066 жыл бұрын
Wow it actually started unbelievable

Shoulda have ran a extension cord and plugged it in for a few hours. I’d be pissed if a sales man did that to a truck that i WAS about to buy.

Nah, heavy duty truck. It’s a big boy it doesn’t need to be plugged in, remember not everyone has that luxury
