I bought a 2017 Ford Escape Titanium AWD 2.0 eco-boost today. Same as the one you just reviewed. I pick it up this Tuesday. Thanks for the review. Btw, I found the Ford on Car Gurus. "Thank you!"

My father bought me a 2018 Ford Escape SE and I love it. I don’t have all the tech features but I’m okay with it.

Excellent review! You really did a great job giving us, the viewers, a good idea as to what the Ford Escape brings to the table of this ever so growing Compact Utility Vehicle segment. Keep up the great work! -DriveAndBeDriven

Also, I like the design of the All-new Ford Escape it has a clean yet, still aggressive look. If I were to buy one I would definitely add on the sun roof and the appearance package. It is too bad Ford didn't upgrade the interior materials a little more for this refresh. It's competitors really put a big gap when you compare the interior of a base model and a high-end model while the Escape looks pretty similar besides, the upgraded infotainment system and the so called upgraded seats. This vehicle is a very good competitor in the CUV segment and definitely deserves a look at your local Ford dealer. Once again, keep up the great work Car Gurus! -DriveAndBeDriven

Excellent review. I am literally in the market for a new vehicle, and at the beginning of my research, Ford was just NOT on my list; nor any other american vehicle. However, the Escape caught my attention. Most notably, the package and feature options per trim level. The competing rivals on my list included the Tucson, Outlander, and Buick Encore. They're all good in their own right, but each of them have what I call a "Fatal Flaw". That is, something that just breaks the deal and would otherwise make my purchase feel "short" if I were to go through with buying one of those vehicles. On the other hand, the Escape really delivers on bang for buck when your budget doesn't range toward the $35,000 needed for a top model compact SUV. The SE model, one step below the Titanium, is well suited for what packages are available. Ford has delivered on value, safety, and convenience on this new Escape and It sits right at the top of my researched list of competitors now. Also, the Sport Appearance Package is FIERCE, especially in the black charcoal paint! Planning to test drive (and possibly buy) one today. Thanks for this review, it was well structured and very informative.

actually the 1.5 SE Ecoboost gets 22 city and 28 highway. I just bought this a week ago and I'm just going to work and home spending about 20 minutes on the highway and I'm averaging 26.3mpg. it could be more if I keep using the cruise control. this Escape is really nice and the seats and very comfortable front and back. the front seats even have lumbar support. this suv looks a lot more mature and just has more style than the rav4 which just looks like it's made from one piece of plastic lol.

Nice review. I saw the 2017 Escape Titanium in the Canyon Ridge Mettalic color with Black trim wheels and that combination looks amazing in person. I thought the Escape looked pretty bland with standard colors but Canyon Ridge in Black wheels made me change my mind.

This was the best review on this vehicle so I really appreciate it. Cross-shopping this and the Equinox and this has a ton more features when optioned-out. Thanks!

Great review! I just purchased a Titanium Escape and I'm extremely happy with it. I love that it's based on the ST so it still has sporty handling. Low end torque I find is a downfall, but midrange is great. I wish it had cooled seats and heated rear seats, but not a huge issue.

One reason I didn't get the sports appearance package is that it replaces full leather seats that are standard on the Titanium with partial leather seats.

I just bout the SE about 5 hours ago. I think they forgot to give me the owner's manual. Anyhoo, does the SE have that feature that warns me if I'm too close to the car in front of me?

Agree with your opinions! A great review. -It's a shame, I really am a fan of the Escape, but I always realize that I like it _in spite of_ that interior. Like "Well, I can live with it, but it's not impressive." That larger EcoBoost really has some serious pickup. But with such crappy MPG across the whole range, sadly I don't think I can consider another Escape for my next car.
@242HP
@242HP 8 жыл бұрын
Why would you expect it to be "impressive" in the first place? It's a FORD. It's not a Lincoln, it's not a Lexus, Infiniti, Audi, Mercedes or BMW. They can jack up the price to $37K and call it "Titanium" to make their owners feel special, but you're still driving a Ford. I'd never spend $37K on an Escape, that's for sure.

Personally, I find some Fords to be impressive. Particularly the Fusion and the Edge. A few small design changes could make that Escape Interior really nice looking. Lots of affordable cars these days have impressive design, some might include Mazda in that category. But I agree, I wouldn't spend that much on an Escape, either.

For the 2018 and 2019 Ford Escapes, Ford made the decision to only offer the 2.0 EcoBoost on the Titanium trim...That is a deal breaker for many.

The headrest button is on the wrong side and it really should be automatic. Lower trim levels has "dad styling". Very monotone interior. Those bigger engines will probably affect your insurance rates.
