Thank you, I'm having this same replacement done on my 2016 Ford fusion, a turbo replacement, and the mechanic used the hearing tool to pin point the riddle sounds was indeed coming from my turbo, and was causing the burning of oil. So it was great seeing this video and understanding what's causing the riddle and why.

After a turbo replacement and a purge valve replacement, which were both unrelated, on my 2017 2.0L Ecoboost Ford Fusion, I have significant decrease in fuel mileage. While before i was getting anywhere between 22-21mpg City, it's now 18-19mpg. My style of driving hasn't changed, all basics have been covered including spark plugs, clean air filter and oil. Any ideas?

Hello friend, congratulations on your videos, they are practically a lesson. Could you give me a tip? I have a 2013 Ford Fusion Ecoboost 2.0, and the electric fuel pump stuck, and I couldn't find a refill for it, just the complete fuel module and it costs a lot. Here in Brazil it is difficult to have maintenance manuals for this car, could you share with us the technical specifications of this fuel pump, such as pressure and flow so that I can adapt another fuel pump? Would you have a Part number that you know works? . Thank you and once again congratulations on the videos!!!

I was suspicious my '14 SE 1.5L might have a bad turbo. It makes a low hum when I accelerate, but there is no loss of power. When the RPMs come down the hum stops. There is no rattle, so now I am thinking it might be something else. I can tug on that shaft to see if I feel any play, that's a good tip. Now I wonder if I just have a bad belt.

At 7:02, I believe that is the wastegate reg valve solenoid. You have a part number for that? I have a '17 same engine. I've replaced all other associated sensors and still can't clear the P1016. Noticed a vacuum drop either side of wastegate so thinking these vacuum lines (i think they ship with this sensor same part number) either have a water/ice issue or have leaks. Thanks in advance.

After just swapping/upgrading the turbo in my fusion, Absolutely no reason to drop the subframe and all that. I completely removed the downpipe and un bolted the one cross member in the back. Turbo wiggled out the back where the downpipe was. Absolutely was no problem to do. I watched this orginally and it made it seem way more complicated. Once I got into it, a breeze. In that aspect made it seem much more of a job than it is in my opinion.

@FordBossMe that's a triggered response. I merely stated I found a simpler way. I work professionally in the automotive field too and have for well over a decade professionally. It's not a hobby but I don't really have to prove anything to or behind that. I don't care on that. You're just another tech to me except you Plaster your face on YT. I said that because I found this video on trying to get a inside first person view of it. Even when I first watched it I questioned the extra R&I's being even necessary... having the background I do. From another professionals standpoint, you got extra and unneeded labor tacked onto the bill (if outside of warranty) causing the customer more money out of their pockets. That's another reason why i said it. Useless labor time to get more money. Since you wanted to be touchy about me stating a less invasive way than ultimately costs less money to do for the overall job saving said customer a chunk of money. And, to add to it, the less invasive you are on a job, the less liability and blame placed on the individual tech for "messing something up" on the pure case of you didn't even touch it. You being defensive about it just adds to the whole dealerships are a scam shit. Being I've worked for some i seen it first hand. Your video with the whole subframe out, with steering rack proves first hand on that to someone whos on a educated mechanical level too. Hundreds of dollars in wasted R&I's AND even drags out the job even longer. Which could mean more rental money and longer rental time and time cycles in the shop itself. Just milking it out. I keep my KZbin profile & name from when I was a little kid on purpose. I don't care enough to make any content or share all the things I do. I lead a busy enough life to plaster any aspect of my life on YT. Perks of that are nobody knows who or what I am. One automotive technician to another your double response is clapback on being defensive on being called out on a more cost effective method that is even simpler as a job as a whole that saves everyone money BUT the monkey turning the wrench on the job who's making extra just to milk out the whole process AND make a YT video of it. 👏 👏

@@FordBossMeI'll double clapbackk too. Block me? Ooo scary. Fucking primadonna 😂 I got way more advanced mechanical people in my back pocket for insight. I don't need a YT warrior mechanic for advice. I didn't even watch your whole video. I stopped when I saw the whole subframe bullshit out. I didn't need the hyped up for the people on YT to get views bullshit. Post doing it the way I did it, I found ample other people doing it the same way even on the more crampt focus ST's. Again, more documentation out there proving your video is dragged out, milked out dealership crap practices. Costing the people (the customer) more money doing it this way. Enjoy being triggered about this too for months on end.😘

Note when I was driving it for that week I had no acceleration power took me forever to get to proper speed. Could I use the old turbo from the other engine as a replacement? @FordBossMe

They normally take the old Turbo from the old engine and put it on the new one they don't put a new turbo on, they transfer all the external parts from the old engine when they put the new engine in and that's how they build the new one so you might have something like a Turbocharger wastegate solenoid or one of the pressure solenoids that need to be replaced

First off I’d like to say genuine ppl like you make the rest of us genuine ppl feel like there’s still honest workers out there. Unfortunately Tropical Ford in Orlando, Florida is not about honest work. The service advisor LARA TALT has decided to verbally change the terms of my engines 2 years/ unlimited mileage warranty to avoid fixing my wifes 2019 2.0 EB leaking turbo oil feed line that’s mated to the block. This was noticed a few months after the new engine was replaced from water intrusion “which I got covered because of your video showing how to spot it”. I assumed it was oil residue from said replacement and the oil loss wasn’t noticeable on the dipstick. A year and a half later, I look over the car and the same issue was there, so I decide to take it down there. The service advisor LARA TALT stated “The 2yr/unlimited mile warranty only applies to work that is paid for, because yours was covered under warranty this doesn’t apply to you”. I dont know about you but that is the biggest BS I have ever heard of and I wish I knew who to report this to. So hear I am checking your videos on how to correctly replace this oil line since Tropical Ford refuses to cover it…

It seems to me that these turbochargers are more of a problem than a benefit to the car buyer. Throw away an entire turbo for one small component! Incredible! These turbo videos convince me not to buy any vehicle with one of them installed. Much rather pay more, $3000-$4000 more for a non-turbo six-cylinder engine, if you think of the wasted time, money, and frustration for EACH time you have to replace them!

If it's a Ford turbo and it has a good seller rating I think you'll be fine If you're hearing a turbo whistle whining sound I would start looking at your hoses to see if any of them are cut or have loose clamps before I replace anything

That’s not a 2017 2.0. The 2017 2.0 uses a twin scroll turbo.

2017 fusion uses twin scroll turbo. Look one up on eBay and you’ll see the difference between your turbo and that. Also garret don’t make turbo for 2017 and up fusion. Thank you for your time. It’s ok to be wrong. Life is too short to worry like that
