The engine in the Shelby may be superior, but that is it. Raptor has the better overall powertrain. Shelby altered stock Ford parts while the Raptor uses factory built Ford SVT parts.

The FTX is an F150 that is upfitted by Tuscany. Once again, starting with a standard truck and then altering it with aftermarket parts. It is the same as the Shelby in concept only. In addition to that, Shelby adds performance upgrades to the engine while Tuscany doesn't touch the engine. They are similar only in the fact that they take a vehicle made by someone else and upfit it with aftermarket parts.

Hennessey Velociraptor is the baddest truck. Basically has the raptor body with the horsepower and engine of the Shelby F150. But great review. This is how truck comparison videos should be made. Out of the two you guys compared. Idk it’s tough as hell. I prefer the looks of the raptor but the Shelby’s F150 power and supercharged engine is just awesome. I’d probably go with the raptor though because I just don’t like the carpeted bed on the Shelby. And I like the looks of it much better.

All stock ecoboost 3.5 engines have terrible turbo lag. However my Focus ST has ZERO lag. You can re-chip the v6 and program out the lag...and gain 100HP on chip alone.

I had a 750hp Shelby 150 for about 2 weeks, (I have a partnership with a dealership because of my entertainment company) it was really unimpressive. A regular RT charger feels faster, my focus ST feels faster, and my 2008 f250 pushing about 600hp with 12” of lift and 40s felt faster. I feel like it had a lot of potential, but the 6 speed let it down.

Obviously I would have the Shelby F-150. Just because that Raptor looks like it's lowered. Both trucks are used for completely different things. The Raptor is used for racing in the sand dunes, and the Shelby is used just to piss off people at red lights and drag stripts. In some cases, the Raptor is better. And if I were to have a truck to drive offroading, I would have the Raptor. But, as a truck to have fun in, I would have the Shelby. But trucks really aren't that fun..... so I'd rather just get a Shelby Mustang. Personally I don't like trucks that much anyway.

Select specialty dealerships, like Town and Country Ford in Alabama are where you'll find options for supercharged V-8's. Otherwise, it's aftermarket options at best. For the 2021 model year, Ford decided on pushing their Ecoboost engines right up to and including the Lariat sub-models. A normally aspirated V-8 engine can be had starting with the King Ranch and over into the Platinum sub-models. I have a 2015 F-150 XLT Sport 4X2 with the 5.0. So you could still get a V-8 in a lower tiered sub-model back then. With the all electric and/or hybrids coming more and more into play, seems as if Ford is slowly phasing out or at the very least, making the V-8's available but only if you are willing to part with more of your "dead presidents" to have one.
