Guy claims it did 700hp but tuned down for 630. Im not sure what a 3.5 long block costs but the gen 3 coyote is 8k on the low end if the motor blows.

Remember, torque wins short races, not HP. The Shelby would destroy everything except maybe the TRX in longer runs and top speed. Gearing and aero might make it lose to the TRX there too but that’s the real race. Plenty on cars can 60’ much quicker cars.

Coyote is where its at something was wrong here. Either way I would save the money on all them truck and build a a coyote f150. You can make 1000-1100hp all day with turbos or a supercharger and run 8s-9s in the 1/4 mile and do a off-road or street suspension and still have stacks and stacks in my pocket. Ask most mechanics the coyote is one of the best motors in the world right now. Stock bottom end can handle 1100hp to do even close to that with a TRX you would need a full engine rebuild. I lost all respect for them and 5star. A tuned pulley swap on a supersnake can push them to 800-900 to the wheels. I have 2 hellcat engines apart right now one was babied I know but both blew up at 75k and both blew again around 150k miles. The babies one has a twisted shattered rod and a hole in the block and the other has the worst spun bearings Ive ever seen. I like them but they are not the best. Coyotes are now one of the best go to for swaps now. You hear people swapping LS and coyotes all day every day. But no one swaps hellcat engines except dodge tossing them in heavy cars.

Sealof TheLiving no something is definitely off with the car. Is basically making stock power for the 5.0L like the tune has to be awful. It’s like it’s on a stock tune, because the blower is spinning up and forcing air into the motor, yet the motor isn’t taking advantage of that extra air. Chances are the tune is mixing enough fuel for the air fuel ratio to make the most power. Resulting in to much air to little fuel putting the car in limp mode. That Shelby wasn't running to its full power. I own a TRX only cause I love Dodges but I can't beat any Shelbys at a drag strip unless they make a mistake then I will win. It is a very very close race though I am right at those Shelby front doors at the 1/4 mile line every time. I also hate Ford's but I don't make excuses or be bias. Maybe that's what I learned off demonology cause he's same way. His whole aftermarket Challenger got walked by a stock gt500. He posts video's he might even have me in a few.

Great video... but I'm confused. On the one hand, a 6.2l SC is expected to beat a 5.0l SC, but on the other, 750hp should beat 702hp. I wish y'all had suggested a reason why the lower powered truck won this contest. Did the TRX benefit from having manufacturer tweak the entire frame design to handle the additional hop while the Shelby could only bolt-on any frame enhancements? I do love that you got your hands on the Shelby F-150. And props to Shelby for using the same stripe design on the truck as we see on the Cobra roadsters. Another great video, fellas!

I had a Titan back in 2005, before the Tundra, big Ford and Chevy 6.2 liters. It was a fast truck at the time, would run low 8 second 0-60s or even high 7s. Now even a stock Ecoboost is like a dang rocket ship.

For all those saying something off with the Shelby!?!? Nope That tuned EcoBoost is savage in short bursts but it would have been a different race if given a little longer run. Plus the TRX is a Factory truck that Dodge went all in on. And its Crazy to think that if they would have given use a Demon version of that TRX Truck it could have knocked a whole second off that zero-60 time.

A supercharger will absolutely give the 5.0 750hp it's been proven elsewhere. Any 5.0 Coyote regardless of generation. Over on AutoVlog channel Mike had a 2015 5.0 that also made 750hp with just a Whipple supercharger.

Only reason why that 3.5L Ford V6 is same motor in the Ford Gt. So it can go way way faster if anyone wanted it to. Shelby isn't breathing well at all. Has a clog or a miss fire.

@@bruceb44 ....if you're referring to that 2 door, half a car or so lighter truck with more power...that's hardly a decent race...although the tricked out 'Ford' barely beat the Factory Ram...and if that's the best you can get from someone else's work, I'd (if I had the $$$) just go to MoPar and buy either a Redeye or Hellephant Hemi and wipe that 'Ford' in a proper apples to apples (by that I mean not stock) race... ...although Ram could just stuff those engines in and call it a TRX-R or something and then it's factory badassery all over again

My uncle bought a trx and the first thing he did was buy a Diablo kit for it and tuned it up. Upgraded the camm and boy it is fast. A hell of a lot quicker than my 5.3l 2013 silverado with cold air intake. It's tuned and the flex fuel is disabled. Also straight piped

To me that’s the point. With just a $700 tune the eco boost gave the trx a run. Another $2-3000 and eco boost would take the trx. And still come in considerably less in price than the trx.

I highly doubt they will. Very few will sell, and they are going to have all of the same issues the Hell cat has had. The trans won't hold up, and the rear end is going to have plenty of problems as well. Its a trash vehicle designed to look cool for a short period of time.

Testing in the desert proved overheating was one of the fatal flaws of the Trx. It is a failed attempt to improve a time tested design.

Sorry Nathan, there is nothing “special” about an ecobust. 😂 God bless RAM Trucks for staying true to what trucks should be. They now own everything that is cool about trucks. TRX, Power Wagon and Cummins HD rule them all. BTW, Furd boi tears are very good for cleaning the mud off the TRX.

The 750 hp was supposed to come from the Shelby supercharger, not 5 star tune. Technically the Shelby should have had more than 750 hp with the tune but something is off about that truck. 5 star is best represented by the blue Ford with nothing but a tune. It too beat the Shelby.

@@darkdodger137 yeah based on that it should have more power shouldn't it. My falcon has a lowly 550hp it would slaughter that thing. Even stock was significantly faster. Something is wrong you can hear it labouring. It should have beaten everything with 750hp+ looked more like 300hp.

They make 750hp stock and weigh less. They detuned it probably. They may be able to tune eco boost but the obviously don’t know wtf they are doing with a supercharged v8.I have 2 stock hellcat engine pulled apart right now. kCoyote is where its at something was wrong here. Either way I would save the money on all them truck and build a a coyote f150. You can make 1000-1100hp all day with turbos or a supercharger and run 8s-9s in the 1/4 mile and do a off-road or street suspension and still have stacks and stacks in my pocket.coyote is probably one of the best motors in the world. Ask any mechanic that. This was a mess a lighter more hp supersnake stock does 0-60 in3.5-4.0 seconds and even the old eco boost f150 they tested did 0-60 in 4.3 seconds this makes me lose all respect for them and 5star because that supersnake could make 800-900hp to the wheels with a tune. Smdh there beef with ford has them playing games.
