2017 Ford Transit 350 Diesel Van Lawn Care Set Up and Updates

Well it's been a month or so since I put out a video. I have been very busy with the start up to my lawn season. This video I will be explaining what I have gone through to get to the point of actually using the van for lawn care. I am not done with it. Love the Van. I have a Sprinter since new. It's 2004. No dpf or complicated electrics. I put the kubota gr1600 inside. Two small aluminium ramps. Push Mower sits on ramps and Strimmer on the side. I use the van for deliverys also. So everything comes out and I can move houses offices then back to grass cutting next day. Got to keep busy on wet days. God bless best of luck. Live the wrap.

Good morning, Mike! With the prices of USED vehicles as high as they are, you are WELL AHEAD of the game, even with the money you've put into the van. Yes, you are right. This van new is 90K Canadian. With average mileage, it would of cost about 50 to 60K. Fixing everything, major components, I am maybe close to 30K in, cost of van and repairs. Yes I am ahead still and have a nice 5 year old van. I am so happy using it. So efficient on diesel, easy to get around and park. Thanks Lou, have a great rest of the week!

It's not a Sprinter Van lol. There is a difference. This is a Ford Transit. I am making this van my own and yes, fixing major components and thus van is loke new again. Thanks Mark!

Yes, a 52 will fit in between the wheel wells on this transit not sure with other brands. The van set up is so efficient. Not cheap to buy them especially if you get a diesel like mine. Thanks Mike.

I know you've been busy. I really like your logo on the van it looks really sharp. I can't remember the last time I had ac which I am getting older and gonna need it. Wow thank God it's not a gas van. Oh man sorry you had to inhale those fumes, but glad you got that fixed. My God he is a numb nut zip tying 2 injectors that is nuts. Wow $2800 and 10 hours labor. I don't blame you for wanting to use the van. I like the vent visors. Your right the van looks new and things need to be replaced. Good idea with the black foam. I like the idea with the wood so nothing moves. I might do that for my tractor in my truck. Loving that wood ramp easy access. That is a good idea with the wood so the ramp doesn't lean on the mower. That is awesome getting your lawns done quicker. The vent is also a good idea. I got to say that is a nice setup and you do have great ideas Mike.. I'm gonna give you a super thanks cause you gave me an idea for my truck.

If I’m not hauling debris, plants or a skid steer I don’t want to haul a trailer. The biggest reason is parking. Especially in parking lots at lunchtime. I used vans for a while but switched to trucks with ramps. The commercial crew had to run with a trailer because of mower sizes. The guys liked it as well because not many people can back a trailer up it’s just something else tho have to be aware of while driving.

I am still running my truck and trailer for large properties. Most of mine are cookie cutter and the van set up totally makes sense for me. So easy to get around. Thanks for watching!

Thanks Rick. I will be working on this all season to perfect the inside. I have room in the van for bins of grass when I need to collect. That is not a problem. There are so many dishonest people in the world. I would not sell some like this and lye. I would not be able to sleep at night. Well that is just me.

Looks like you got everything sorted out pretty much 👍I wish I had time to finish my mow and go setup. I haven't been able to get in touch with the guy that is making my ramp. Not sure if he's sick or what but, it's been months 🤷

I think I have the main issues solved. Ran the van all week and it's running great. No engine lights only the knock coming from the right front. Prob the strut. My buddy, mechanic said it's safe to drive right now. Will get that repaired soon. This is a basic set up right now. I am still working on the little things inside when I have time. Its good now to use and work with. That is too bad that you are delayed now too with your Mow and Go. Trust me, I know the feeling of having a vehicle, feeling anxious to use it and can't for months. When that times comes that you can use, you feel like a kid in a candy store. Thanks for watching Jason and Christina!

Hey, YES, the 52 will fit with the Ford Transit I have. I believe it is 54 inch between the wheel wells. That is awesome. More people should look into a van set up if they can afford it.
