You really have to see this in person to see how amazing it is I usually don't get blown away by a car, but this was one of the best looking cars I ever seen. I'm glad I paid the few extra thousand for the sport touring hatchback trim, it looks so much better then the other trims Black one is the best!

To those who want to know about the 6-speed manual on this car...unfortunately it is only available on the 2017 Civic Hatchback Sport, not on the Sport Touring. The Sport Touring gets the CVT with the Steering Wheel Mounted Shift Paddles. I work for a Honda Dealership as a Salesman, and have driven the Sport with a manual trans, and I can tell you first hand it's much better with the stick. You get a slick shifting gearbox and 15 lb./ft. more torque. It is so fun to drive, but it's based on the LX so it's lacking all the nice creature comforts like Push button start, upgraded audio system, Honda Sensing, etc., etc. It's also about $6-$7K less than the Sport Touring. It's THE Civic to buy if you care about looks, performance, and getting the best bang for your buck. Here's the really cool part...HONDATA makes a tuner for the car that seriously bumps up the power. On a Civic EX-T with the 1.5 Turbo they are putting out something like 218 horsepower and 241 lb./ft. torque. The aftermarket is starting to come alive for the new 10th Generation Civics as intakes, exhausts, tuners, suspension kits, etc. are now available. I'll probably be getting one this June and will create a nice KZbin channel dedicated to it.

Oz, thanks for a great review! I ordered mine last week - red with black interior, and it's being built in England as we speak. I read a comment below saying your sister went with this car because she could wait on the CR-V until she was more mature - I'm mature (older!) and have driven a CR-V for the last 11 years - it was time for me to be young and fun again!

Very nice over view of this beautiful car! I have the LX model in Rally Red and it looks dripping wet just the sexiest looking red outside of ferrari's famous red that I've seen. It drives very well too, I love it when the turbo kicks in around 2000 rpm. Sport mode ups the acceleration and is perfect for passing cars on the interstate. You get a smooth ride as well because of the independent rear suspension. I'm in love with this thing!

You confused the Honda "LaneWatch" with the Honda Sensing feature "Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS)". LaneWatch is the the blind spot monitoring through the camera on the passenger sideview mirror.

unr1 Yes you're right... but as he mentioned vibrations, I reckon it was the Road Departure Mitigation (rapid vibrations on steering wheel) and NOT the Lane Departure Warning (alerts flash and sound only).

Tech Defender I'm torn between the CRV and Civic as well. For the price of the hatch touring, you don't get the exhaust and the led headlights on the CRV EX. I think that may be my deciding factor.

My sister was feeling the same... You know what was her deciding factor??? Her age! She said that she always can get the CRV in the future when she is more mature and has no desire for an aggressive sport look. Also the ride high makes the Civic more sporty than the CRV, and she looooves the design of her hatchback!
