I have a 2012 M56S , same car, it is a unicorn. You almost never see another one. I have put almost 100,000 miles and this car has overall served me well. It is a quite powerful car, but with RWD it is IMPOSSIBLE TO DRIVE IN THE SNOW! Personally I feel it is overpriced new, and the technology is long in due for an update. Best thing is to buy a used one with low miles, got mine with 4000 miles and saved about 19 grand! It has been reliable, fun to drive and a good looking car. My car is always in sport mode 😀.

Same for me: I have a 2012 M 30dS, with 40000km... I have never seen another one on the road in France ! Infiniti is such a confidential brand here ! The Q70 is exactly the same car, except for a few cosmectic changes, Q50 and Q60 are the next generation... M and Q70 are fantastic cars!

I have the 3.7 Q70... and i traded the Altima you showed at the start to get it. The Altima definitely looked "sharper"... but not prettier... The Altima had better tech and VQ in it was PLENTY responsive... BUT... and it's a huge but... the quality in the Q70 is just worlds ahead of the Altima! I loved the Altima, but when the transmission gave out at 70,000 km... well, that about did it for me and CVT's... The Q70 is just such a good car to live with.

I too like Howard own a 12 M56s. I love it and look forward to driving it everyday. I bought in Sept 2016 with 37k miles. Full loaded with Tech Pack. Did I say I love driving it.

Back in 2011, the Y51 platform (M37/M56) set the tone for Nissan & Infiniti’s design language, so when the curvier Altima came out in 2013, it did borrow a lot of design cues from its statelier stablemate. But to say they looked exactly alike is quite a stretch… Park one next to the other and it’s plain to see that while obviously related, they are a world apart in terms of substance. At least to me 😅

Oh yeah Infiniti is awesome! Fast and reliability at its finest! Low cost to ownership and I know because my family has owned 3. First was a 1997 Q45, then got a 2006 M45, then got a 2010 FX50 .... we love V8 power baby! But I will agree Infiniti needs to update the Q70 interior and entertainment immediately other than that I think the exterior is badass looking I would drive it no doubt!

@ArT oF wAr I am so late seeing this. But I am curious as to what you decided to go with!? You can't go wrong with Infiniti. If power and performance is what you are looking for, Infiniti is the go to brand. I can't speak for Acura becaue they don't necessarily make "performance" or high power vehicles on par with Infiniti. Also Lexus is a good option, like the GS F sport or IS 350 F sport.

You must be a pretty overweight guy I have the same car and I'm 6'5 and you actually make the driver cabin look pretty cramped. You may want to look at the qx80. Just from a comfort standpoint. And it does not look anything like an Altima.

romel 4life Build quality yes it does. My mother has a Q50 and when I sat in a Q70 loaded it was way nicer looking. Because of materials. They just need to update the design.

I just wasted time in my life I can’t get back watching this review. I like it, I hate it, can’t txt and drive, can’t make a call while driving, oh did I mentioned I’m a middle age man that got two phone numbers at a club ?? SMH.. I have the 2016 Q70 L and love it, my wife nicknamed it King Kong, car is powerful and demands attention, rises smooth even on the 20 inch rims. Chrysler 300? Really? You got to be kidding me. He compared a Chrysler to an Infiniti Q70? He lost me right there and yet I still found myself completing the viewing of his post. I need to decompress, guess I’ll hit the beltway and hope I find a Chrysler 300 to race!!

Chrysler's Reliability is not very good. A friend has the Challenger Red Eye and only uses it for weekend driving because it's not reliable for a daily driver. Infiniti's Reliability has been very good, except for vehicles with the CVT.

I loved your review. You were speaking very honestly and candidly about this car. Great handling when you want it, but mediocre ride and transmission at 5/10th. Is it worth $72K.? NO!! It's worth maybe $55K. If I had the kind of money to purchase a sedan like this outright, I would definitely go for the 400hp 3.0L V6 turbo Red Sport.

Not sure I agree with your comment about lack of v8 competition.For not much more money/similar $$ (or much less if buy 1 year old), you can get MUCH better performance cars with v8s. BMW 550, Audi S6, Lexus GSF, Cadillac CTS-V, Jaguar XFR.

The altima is neither rwd, or sporty. Let alone offered with a v8 or paddle shifters, and an actual transmission.. Stay off the damn phone and drive your car... I just got a 2015 q70s 5.6x.. Yes the elusive v8 sport awd.. Get over the phone, and quit comparing to an altima.. It doesn't share that platform anymore... All in all, great vid, happy for you.. Have a great day

@@a.d.c7941 it's amazing. Not as fast as a q50 with the vr30tt.. But fast enough for a big body VIP.. The AWD works wonders, especially during donuts.. Let the ass end slip out, stay in the throttle, keep the wheel turned, and watch it go WWWEEEEEEEEEEE.. So glad i got the 5.6 over the 3.7. Not doggin the vq, it's just worth it.. I have a couple vids up on it.. Will have more in a few weeks. Currently having the engine rebuilt. Previous owner didn't take care of the car, so engine and trans are gettin rebuilt. But I'm ok with that. When she's done next week, I'll basically have a 2021 Q70. She has been an amazing machine.. I don't regret a single dollar. Theres a 13 m56s, rwd with the all wheel steering in florida. On ebay motors and autotempest. Great price. And the 4ws was not offered in 2014 and up models. Also the 5.6 was disco'd in 2019. So if the v8 is what you want, gi 2018 and older. Good luck, and I hope you get in 1. They're a life changer!!!

Not sure if you still have this vehicle. But I have a question; does the seat belts ratchet up when you brake hard with this model year? I currently have a 2010 M that does it. I'm looking at a 2017 q70s with 39k miles on it. However, when I brake hard the seat belt didn't ratchet up during the test drive. Just trying to figure out if it's defective or not. I know I'm late to the party. Just watching and reading everything I can before taking the plunge. Any information would be appreciated! Hope to hear back from you, thanks!

Maybe you were not braking hard enough or the aftermarket pads aren't stopping hard enough to trigger the sensor? If you open the door after turning off the vehicle, I recall the seat belt retracting every time.

@@NewCarSpin not really sure about the brake thing, but I slammed the brakes pretty hard 3 or 4 times during the test drive and it didn't do it, just found out that the 2017 does have the pre tensioner, every other safety feature seemed to work fine. But the seat belt thing kept me from driving off with it. It's an off lease vehicle so you would think it would work being as though whoever had it wouldn't have to pay to have it fixed.

I have plans to buy an M37/Q70 and have test drvien a couple , only waiting for an S model to come up.. In a sense all you said about the car is true, but what the real thing you miss is precisiely that the M37/Q70 are what you'd call cars for "discerning" individualistic clkientele.That is folks who do know BMWs 5 Jaguars XF and Audis 6 are 'probably' better in many of the areas, could even buy these, but they wont simply because everybody thinks so. And most probably becuse they do not ike the "pretentiousness" associated with the competition, given the fact that those too do have flaws, some even worse in the end, all brushed away due to steereotypical tastes, expectatione etc. I for instance have sat/driven E classes and 5 series enough times, and for the love of me never ever find what the praise is all about due to "flaws" I identify.. Indeed I identify as many things I didnt like as you do for the M. In a nutshell, it is subjective choice, but indeed as other reviews do highlight these M/Q70 cars truly have their place.
