Maggie is ICONIC as Rusty. My school is doing Footloose next spring and I'm trying out for Ariel, Rusty, Wendy Jo, and Urleen because I want to play a teen role because I always play the mom because I'm 5'7". My voice teacher wants me to do whistle tone in a song to pull off Rusty. Wish me Luck!

Olivia Perez It depends how high school music theater awards in your state works. Most states have a statewide awards program and you have to get nominated/win an award based on a performance in a show at a participating high school through that program to make it to the Jimmy awards. For example, WI (where I have experience) has the Jerry awards program and students who win an outstanding lead performer award can audition to be one of two students who get to go to the Jimmy awards. I know not all states have an awards program or participate in the Jimmy awards, and you also have to look into whether or not your high school participates in awards programs. Hope this helps!
