Makes a damn good noise, better than how it sounds in the Ninja 300 I think. Looks like heaps of fun. I want one! And thanks for making this video. It's exactly what I wanted to see for this bike. So many people test ride bikes while riding it at normal commuter pace, and talk talk talk. This is better.
@MotoSnax6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for liking the video. :) The sound shouldn't be different from the Ninja 300. I never talk during my rides as I don't have anything useful to say. :) I write everything down on my website in reviews, I never do video reviews. The only thing I did not do was make a review for this particular bike. Just had some fun riding it. Maybe I'll do a test of it in the future, but this month I will put a Suzuki V-Strom 250 test online (in Dutch, translator included).
@mindspinn3116 жыл бұрын
The Versys 300 has a different airbox shape/size and I think it contributes to better induction sound. I noticed the same thing on the 650 Versys, Z650 and Ninja 650. Yes do a test of the Versys 300! The Suzuki 250 engine is anemic.

And don't think we didn't see that attempt at 7th gear at 124kph .... on a 300cc adventure motorcycle :) . Like your vids. What camera setup are you using? No wind noise and we can hear the bike.
@MotoSnax7 жыл бұрын
LOL, yeah it misses a 7th gear. Also in the top speed video you can see me try shift gears when already in 6th. I use a Drift Ghost-s with external mic. Image is not as crisp as a Gopro, but the device has a better shape to use on a helmet and has a 300 degrees rotatable lens. There is a 4k Ghost as of this week, but not sure everyone likes it (when I check online reviews). Maybe I will ask Drift if I can get a demo model.

Got mine home and love it. Thanks for the vids - they helped me jump in to something I was sure I wanted. I know I can make it work for the off road I do but was wondering about keeping up with traffic while getting to a "get off" This little ninja motor is really amazing! Trying to keep the revs down to break-in is driving me crazy. Only 250 more miles though. :-)

So how is 1st gear? Is it low enough to handle technical sections without major clutch slipping. Does it have enough torque at low RPM, crawling up something steep? I usually have to gear down (fewer teeth) on the front sprocket or gear up (add teeth) on the rear sprocket to be handle to handle the few technical sections I ride through. They are usually few and short but if the gearing is too high, they just can't be done. And of course changing the gearing to be able to do the technical stuff takes a lot of the top end or top speed of the bike. 7 speed transmission would be nice with a low 1st for crawling and a 7th that would comfortably cruise at 70 without sounding like a wound out 2-stroke.

Was the exhaust stock or aftermarket. The sound reminds me of my dearly departed '69 CB350 twin.

Stock exhaust.

Its got that high revving 180 deg parallel twin same as the old cb350. Admittedly the Versys does rev a tad higher, though the cb doesnt have a rev limiter so you could probably get it to 12. XD

Great video, excellent setup of the camera. How about the break in period? You only have 300km on your bike but you are revving it pretty high. Do you thing brake in period is necessary in modern bikes?
@MotoSnax6 жыл бұрын
Thanks. 300km? That is probably the trip meter or clock. Manufacturers still recommend breaking in. I think the first 50 kilometers are important. after that try to ride normal with every now and then a little more revs. Some people break it in on a dynojet, others just don't, but most people will probably read the manual and take it easy for the first 1600km. How do you think the bikes are handled for riding tests you read in magazines and on the internet? Most of them are far from 1600km's.

hello nice video, I wanted to ask you something: when you turn off the bike, do you also hear a strange noise coming from the saddle? they told me that they are the throttle body
@MotoSnax6 жыл бұрын
Hi, I have not been riding on it for a long period of time. Yet I don't recall a strange noise. Maybe I'll ride it again next year and try to check if it has the same noise. I know ride-by-wire can make a sort of coil whining noise, but the Versys-X does not have ride-by-wire.
@winki50364 жыл бұрын
this strange sound is ai comes back in the fuel-lines after cutting the power that makes the nescessary underpressure of the line.

The Versys X300 2022 model is out, and it is the same bike for the most part. There is a lot of third-party companies making a lot of aftermarket accessories now. You can make the X300 whatever you want. Check out my channel to watch videos on many updates, add ons and modifications.

I can't remember. But the brakes on the latest Kawasaki's are pretty good.

I own this bike, u can go over 100mph, if driving on road mostly change gearing 2 teeth and lower rmp. as is just rib the shit out of it kaw said it's ok to do so! BUt I have complained to Kawasaki about the seat being so hard asking for a new softer seed or the material to make a softer seat and I would wish all other X300 owners to do the same maybe we can get a recall??
@hildtonmcconnell56265 жыл бұрын
I found the seat hard at first but after 1800 km it is not bad and seams to be getting better all the time. I do around 100 Km to 150 Km rides non stop and now have no problem with the seat. It is one of the most fun bikes I have had and I had quite a few from 49 cc to over 1000 cc. It seams to be happy on what ever road I take it on from good paved to gravel and dirt and broken pavement, and loves the sharp corners. I did find that side winds of 50 Km to 80 Km in the rain did give me some scary moments, but made it through OK it was for only 60 Km, don't think I would like to ride in that type of weather too often.

Amersfoort81 i need to know something, If i compare MT03 and versys x 300 If mt03 is in 100km/h and versys is in 100km/h Mt03 rpm is very lower than the versys... ! Thats mean the engine is very comfortable in road thats mean the machine can stay in life more... Thats correct ??
@MotoSnax5 жыл бұрын
MT-03, you mean the 321cc model? It should be a little bit lower in rpm cruising at 100km/h. But still that should be no problem on the Versys. You can also change sprockets. The Versys is missing the 7th gear (with original sprockets) when really going fast.
@charafmohammed66465 жыл бұрын

Too weak to overtake at speed. They should have used the 400 engine.
@MotoSnax3 жыл бұрын
The 400 twin cylinder engine did not exist at that time. Yet I did expect them to update it to X-400 shortly after the release of the Ninja and Z. They did not. Maybe had too many 296cc engines in the warehouse. :)

I love my Versys X. I wanted a light and agile bike with enough power to take me on work or on a weekend trip. It´s clear to see you´re havin a good time with yours but please stop being an idiot on the road. You choosed the 300ccm ´cause it´s enough power, you don´t need to proof that to anyone. You don´t give a s**t about speed limits or Stop signs. That´s not how to ride a bike, no matter how much power you have. Please drive a little bit more responsive on road. We have a small community of Versys X Drivers and it´s quite not nescessary to show "how much it can" under the risk of your and others life... Stay safe bro, no offense

You are right, I rode like an idiot. Not my normal style. It is not my bike, took it for a spin. The stop sign; that is called a 'Californian stop'. :)

@MotoSnax7 жыл бұрын
Micro car -> allowed to overtake. The other cars did not, because maybe they did not realize it was a micro car with a max speed of 45km/h. Staying behind it as motorcyclist is dangerous as traffic behind you may notice it too late. Slower traffic but regular cars; not allowed but sometimes it just pisses me off, people driving 60km/h instead of 80km/h (or for example 80km/h where 100km/h is allowed) and the next possibility to overtake them is in 3 kilometers. Is it wrong? Yes. But I try to do it safe with no oncoming traffic or blind corners. Same type of people keep driving in the left lane at a slow pace. If they'd be driving 80km/h (the limit on that road) I would not overtake them, because then I'm fine with it. Not doing it all the time though, but I'm not a sucker staying for kilometers behind a turtle. Just because they wanna do it extra slow, does not mean EVERYONE has to be slower in life. If it is safe to do so, I'm overtaking them. If it is not safe, then I don't. Sorry for these long lines. ;)

What is the full tank range?
@MotoSnax7 жыл бұрын
I got 1 liter per 24 kilometers, with a 17 liter tank that is about 400 kilometers (255 miles). But that is with my riding style. If you ride slower, than 1 liter per 27 kilometers would be possible too, making it around 450 kilometers (285 miles).
