This car has two downsides - first is sport-like suspension which is not so comfortable (but this is understandable), and second is noise inside the car.. pretty bad noise insulation.

I would so go out and buy this car (top spec) *if* they put the CX-9 engine in it. Why don't they? I am sure it would fit. They clearly are not going down the MPS path again any time soon, so this is a good alternative. No R&D costs, just some engineers crunching numbers and a few weeks of testing on a track -- bam! You got yourself a winner, Mazda. Do it!

@@TrueGold88 Wow very pricey, mine was 22k and had 45k miles in great shape. It's a certified used model, came with the Mazda mats and trunk mat, apple and android auto, the gps navigation sd card and the stainless mazda door sill plates. So far i have added a racing beat stainless catback exhaust kit, an mv tuning rear diffuser with f1 brake light and a jbl 12 inch spare tire subwoofer, really woke up the factory bose system and made the bass really hit hard. Best of luck in picking up a 2019 mazda 6! All the best!

I always liked the Mazda6. It is unique and well screwed together, but I do wish it has a bit more to it. The 2.5 I4 turbo from the CX-9 would be fun addition.

I love my 2018 Optima SX with tech package, but the one thing that upsets me is that you seriously can't hear the engine at all in the car. The thing is too quiet. Whereas with Mazdas you can hear them.

Would you wear a pair of driving gloves? It will make this look even more professional. Plus, you are recording a video of your driving as part of your job. My main job is not driving, but I do have to do a lot of driving sometimes. So I got myself a pair of medium-price gloves. Felt tacky at first, but I got used to the feel sooner and driving with gloves has become very comfortable that the first thing I'd do after starting the ignition is to put on my gloves, then fasten the seat belt.

I just got a 17 Sport after totaling my 13 Sonata GLS and I must say I'm a bit disappointed. The noise is a tad louder, especially on the wind side, storage is lacking, ride is rougher, Bluetooth audio system delay, lack of Android Auto and my biggest nitpick is the power. Not necessarily the power, but the throttle. On the Sonata, I barely had to tap on the pedal to really push the car. It was incredibly responsive and gave me power when I asked for it. But on the Mazda the power just is not there, the throttle is so laggy to me and I really have to push the car to get power out of it. If the pedal was more responsive I'd like this car a whole lot more. Also the engine noise isn't great either, sounds so groany. The sonata actually had a nice intake sound. But overall I don't hate it, I just don't love it unfortunately. Also damn I'm so jealous of the LED head and taillights on the GT!

I did! Actually got to briefly drive it about 3 or 4 times before I ended up making a purchase. The sound delay thing I had no idea about and the power thing I thought I would get used to. And to be honest I was in serious need of a car after my accident and Mazda was the only one willing to negotiate good numbers with me down to the last second. My other option was a 17 Sonata Sport but they would not budge on numbers after my first meeting so I gave up on them. If I could go back I probably would have opted for a lease instead of financing.

I have the 15 Sonata, the engine noise sounds worse than the Mazda 6. Handing is ok, but it is quiet. I like the Mazda 6 style, it looks sharp.

I don't think a redesign is necessary, it looks really stunning still and has a unique design. However I do want them to design a turbo 4 similar to the CX-9 but if it could make closer to 300 hp and like 350lb of torque they would have a monster.

+WhinslorCheck Redesign is necessary including the size of the wheelbase. It is still compact rather than mid-size. It needs to expand the similar to the wheelbase to Camry/Sonata/ in size and length mated with 2.5 Turbo motor. That would be something.

I should've been more specific, when Donovan said "redesign" I took it as changing the look of the Mazda 6 which in my opinion looks fantastic. I am completely down with whatever change they need to make in order to accommodate the new engine design, that being the new 2.5 Turbo Skyactive engine Mazda produces. Mazda showed us they're capable of building one, I just want them to implement it within their line-up in the near future.

WhinslorCheck I didn't really mean a full redesign, I meant a bit of a facelift, like making the head and taillights a bit sleeker, and some interior changed like adding a full heads up display instead of that little glass panel that flips up. The binaural microphone setup picks up a lot of excess noise. I've watched a LOT of his videos and even the quietest cars have a bit of road noise exaggerated. This car is a bit noisy, yes, but it's not unbearable, having driven a friend's '15 Mazda 6.

Mazdas new vehicles like the cx9 and CX5 have been redone with more noise reduction material, I don't kind cars with engine noise going through to the cabin, if the cabin has a lot of engine noise but not road noise then I'm fine with it

has the option to go manual, you just shift left next to drive. Also has paddle board things behind the steering wheel to up and down shift. I don't use it much tho the automatic transmission in these things is A1

That is still a really butt ugly front grille. The wheels look like garbage as well. I can't believe a top of the line model has wheels that resemble flowery garbage bin lids. i do like the white against the black for the interior though but the dashboard layout looks awful for 2017 and so does the silly ipad like screen stuck on the dash like that. Does it at least power back inside the car when not in use?
