I absolutely love my 2018 Mercedes Benz E300! It turns heads, its a thrill to drive and I feel safe on the road with! I have owned more than a few of the German 3 (Audi A4 & A6, BMW 3, 5 & 7 series, Mercedes e320) and by far, my E300 is my favorite. I know this video was done years ago, but I enjoyed it!

great review I live in south Africa and picked up my new 220d just yesterday. people might not realise how importance the safety features are. I have hearing loss of 80% because of a car accident and had to go for cochlea implant. if this tech was available that could have saved my hearing loss. anyway I only drove 10km from my dealer to my house and it was one of the best 10km I have driven. I sold my 2016 7 series to buy this and so far this seems far superior.

Nice option and choice to consider with the safety features and luxury items that are available in the car world. With gas prices creeping towards the price of steak prices. It's definitely at the top of my list. My wife just got new glasses so with self parking options. I won't see or hear I made a boo-boo today. I'm in a C class now. The S class is out of range for my budget. At 60 it's about where I'd feel okay with at my age. I have no one to impress but love the safety features. 6/19/18

@PhilsMorningDrive8 жыл бұрын
That's a great question Samson. It's pretty tough to beat the smoothness of a Lexus model. However, if you choose the air body control option on the E-class it provides a very comfortable ride. Both cars are great and hard to choose between. Thanks for watching. I hope this helps.

Samson Okoro, The E-class though is kind of in its' own separate class of mid-size luxury since it's FWD. I would say that the Lexus GS competes directly with this car.

Phil's Morning Drive :Thankyou phill.how much it cost for premium 3 package with 20" wheels?
@PhilsMorningDrive7 жыл бұрын
So an E300 4Matic with just the Premium 3 package and 20" wheels will cost $70,995. The only 20" wheels that Mercedes offers are as an accessory through your dealer. There are two wheel styles that Mercedes offers both costing right around $1700 as an option but that does not include tires. The factory standard wheels are 18" you can choose 17" or 19" directly from the factory. Obviously you could also go with a non Mercedes wheel from a third party as well. A complete fully loaded E300 4Matic with the Premium 3 package the 20" Mercedes Accessory wheels and every other option comes to $84,354.

It would be very interesting (to me at least..) what the limits of the automatic parking are. it would be cool to watch a demonstration video in a how tight of a space can the car park itself. If you know your car, you can fit it in very tight spaces (going back and forth 5,6 times) what about the autopark? maybe it is not that important since someone who spent $ on a new Merc would probably park it in a garage, but when I buy a used one 10 years from now i'd like to know if it would fit in a narrow space :)
@PhilsMorningDrive7 жыл бұрын
I agree that would be interesting. I know the car determines whether or not it can fit before it allows you to perform the automatic function but I don't know what the tightest space it can get in is in terms of dimensions.

So people ask you for car recommendations all the time, you say? Would you happen to know if there is a compact suv/large hatchback-with-ground-clearance-above-about-6in? with fold flat seats for cargo area, heated steering wheel&seats, and Manual transmission?
@PhilsMorningDrive8 жыл бұрын
My first question to you is do you live in the U.S.? If so off the top of my head the car that best fits that description is a Mini Countryman. It has everything on your list except the heated steering wheel. It has 6.3 inches of ground clearance and you can fold the seats down flat. I would recommend ordering the bench seat and the flat load floor to accomplish this. Also, several other compact SUV/hatchbacks have a manual transmission but it's on the bare bones model which means no heated seats or steering wheel. I'm not sure why Mini doesn't offer a heated steering wheel to be honest. I'll keep doing some research and I hope this helps. Thanks for watching my show.

The center rear seat... what engineer can't seem to figure out how to do a center rear seat? We need 5 comfortable seats.... don't get it in any of the Mercedes we drove, nor any of the other top selling 'luxury' cars. Sad. 9:22 and how is the Cooled / Ventilated seat option on that $61000 car? You leave the car outside on a hot day and the leather/ette is melting.. What this has over most of the (size) competition is the badge, the prestige. I like the comfort, the interior is nice, the seats are awesome. The exterior should be more refined and less like a C and they should add ventilated seats to every car that has heated seats. Also spare tire should be basic. This '17 has a jack inside, but no tire, or place for a tire if you buy one. Run flats are heavier, way more expensive, and run worse as normal tires. Good luck going on a longer trip far from a dealer, and having a flat at night in a remote place.. That's right there is way more anxiety than range would give you in a Tesla - what you're aware of every minute.
