Yes - CPO is the way to go! - bought my E300 with 54k mi on it, have put on about 10k mi, and the only problem I've had is the hose coming out of the high pressure fuel pump had a small leak that caused a fuel smell while idling (common problem) - that was free of charge because I had bought it CPO. Even with some of these problems, I will say that the local dealer, from whom I did NOT buy the car, has been great in terms of honesty and not trying to gouge me on repairs. They required zero paperwork, etc., because they can see the car was CPO. I had the opposite experience with a GM car I bought (Yukon XL) several years ago, where the local dealer tried to nickel and dime me on everything and suggested repairs I didn't need. So, even if quality control is not what it could be (even Honda and Toyota have gone downhill on that front), at least they made up for it at the other end.

Sorry you faced that problem. I have the same car and I am 100% satisfied. I also recommend to buy a extended guarantee when the factory guarantee expired, that will be a piece in mind.

1:36 my bmw and e class had this issue. You have to roll your windows down all the way and keep holding the button for 7secs and then roll them up and hold the button for 7secs. After that it should close without a problem.

The window thing happens sometimes, it used to happen to me a lot on my 2014 E-Class because I have speed bumps at my job that used to set it off. All you have to do is teach the car what all the way up and all the way down is on the window. This procedure can be found online and can be completed by anyone. Did it twice on the aforementioned vehicle.

I have the same car as you and I had the window issue as well. I did a quick Google search and I found out that if you hold the window button for a certain amount of time it sets it as default. So I read that all you have to do is hold it again to reset to factory. Great video.

@@Rogcui I think the window button has 2 functions like in w212. Soft press and window goes up a little and hard press to make window go all the way up or down. If you remove the battery you have to teach low and high points again like the other guy said. If previous owner changed battery on his own then this might not have been done by him.

I emphasize with you. On my Mercedes the transmission was recalled and I was not notified. My husband took my car for regular service at the Mercedes dealership in Bentonville, AR. He was told that $5,000.00 of service was needed . He approved it. There was still two weeks left to notify us about the transmission recall. Neither one of us were notified. Two weeks and one day later the transmission quit. We took it to be fixed and were told that there was no transmissions available period. My car had to be donated for parts. We were cheated and lied to my omission.

I have 17 E class 73k miles no issues, did my basic maintenance and followed maintenance schedule and no problems. This is what happens when you don’t treat the car properly. I’ve take my Mercedes cross country and she treated me well!

@@DevilDaRebel It was like a 3 year old car when this was posted. It would have been significantly newer when this problem presented. I don't think most people go buying Mercedes E class cars and then slam the doors unreasonably hard. It takes a lot of effort to slam a car door in a manner that is unreasonable. This is almost certainly the result of manufacturing flaw. I have never worked on or gotten into a car with a bad door hinge. I've seen a lot of car problems, but never that one. I've certainly seen them in cars with accidents obviously, but not from normal wear. Car door hinges just don't go bad. That's not something that should be happening. That's a car part that just doesn't go bad unless it was poorly designed or was in a bad batch. CERTAINLY not a hinge on a 2017 Mercedes. Come on.

I have the same car as yours and the fourth problem isn’t actually a problem, you just have to replace your key battery, i had the same issue and I remember freaking out about it but it was just the battery you can get it at any store for few bucks and replace it.

In past while it was under warranty they had to replace my power steering because that blew... I just hope the squeak when I turn the wheel isn't a big problem

Nice to know that the issues were fixed for free. I too have the E class 2017. The problems was the spare new key which would open the car but not start it so a new key was given and the adblue storage for some reason developed a slight leak.. The charge was £600 but they refunded it 3 weeks later otherwise it been fine.

Lexus IS for me is a waste. With the same money I would just get a high end corolla or Camry. People buy Mercedes-Benz for the luxuriness and driving dynamic, Corolla and Camry for reliability. A Lexus IS can never replace a MB C or E for the luxuriness and dynamic, and doesn't replace Corolla or Camry for reliability either.

i had this car for two years lot of problems compared to my mazda which had none. 1. Doors would not lock on the driver side 2. had to update software for entertainment screen 3. sunroof leaked 4 same window problem 5. randomly would not start twice 6. Center console stop closing ( this small issue alone would have been 1k plus) ps to fix in new york these issues could many thousands 😢

Key won't wo4k and door won't open because the lock button on yhe keyfob was clicked twice to disable the key fob. And you said it, the bat was bad. Good about the warranty.

Make sure they blow the sunroof gutter system clean.My mom’s 2018 E Class filled up with water and she had to go through insurance.Took 2 months to fix with all the electronics.EXTREMELY frustrating. We had the window problem on the driver’s side too.

I had the same two issues, door hinge on driver’s door, and window that would go up then back down about two inches. My first Mercedes 2017 E 300 Pre owned certified. (2019 purchase) After the Mbrace subscription expired I can no longer use voice commands for navigation. If I say navigate to…it gives me results halfway across the country 200+ miles away. Very disappointing and doesn’t want to make me even think about buying another Mercedes. My wife’s Toyota Rav4 had better technology. So much for a luxury car and German engineering.

Hey I have a 2017 E300 and had the infotainment and window problem as well. It happens because of low voltage in the batteries, I got a trickle charger now and I have no problems, when before the problems kept coming back every time I would get it repaired at the dealership.

I also have the W213, a really nice car, but unfortunately with all the Electronics, also a few little problems: 1 I also had the window problem, it will come back, when the rubbers are new or less used, the window will notice a pressure and fall back 2the steer buttons can be broken, really strange, but I heard it is a common problem. 3 Sunroof can fail and will not close again. A garage or dealer can close it manually. I will go 2nd of october to the dealer to let it fixed 3 The seats, there will come out a little bit like clearcoat when you drive it daily. A nice and solid car, but also with a few problems that you don't expect from a E class.

I not having Mercedes biu I have been using Hond City Ivtec for over ten years, I never had problems related to window glass or its button. The quality assurance should be by Design and not by Quality check sheet. But I would love to buy Mercedes e class.

I took my E300 2017 with 38,089miles for a service A3 and they fried my system. The car had no problems till they updated the system. So now they changed the remote on the car and it’s acting the same so now it’s there problem

Put your car on a trickle charger and it will be good as new. I have a 2017 e300 as well bought it new and repeatedly had these problems for over 2 years and had to go in to the dealership 7-10 times. Its just low battery voltage

@@williamlarkin1170 Actually the reason why it goes down is a safety feature. It thinks that someone left his finger between the window (max motor torq but it doesnt detect window upper limit). So it opens the window automatically. I have a w212 and it rarely happens with this car too in winter time.

I have the same year/model and it will be my last MB purchase. Fortunately, like you, I have a CPO warranty. I had the issue with the Apple Car Play black screen too. I also had one of the flexible rubber sunroof gaskets break, compass module for the map break, a high pressure fuel line leak (service bulletin went out for this issue too), forward collision module went out, numerous hardware rattles in the cabin that needed to be replaced, and the AC motor mount needed to be replaced. All cost me zero dollars thanks to the CPO. If you look at JD Powers, Mercedes now ranks below Ford, Chevy, Chrysler in customer satisfaction. If you look at this year/model on Consumer Reports reliability it is also at the bottom. I think their cars are pure junk and you are paying for a brand. None of their models rate very high in reliability/customer satisfaction, BMW and Audi have far fewer problems and rank at the top of JD Powers customer satisfaction list. This car that I have is on par with a Land Rover's reliability and everyone knows what a piece of junk they are. At least I was able to drive a lot of nice loaners along the way!

I want a cabriolet as a 2nd vehicle but I hate organizing service, dropping at dealership etc. So I was checking to see if the reliability was better on certain models so I could just buy a better class and avoid the hassle but that doesn't seem to be true. We have had 2 Audis and both burn a qt of oil per tank of gas after 100,000 miles. This time, because my hubby loves the manual transmission he opted to get a new engine. Previous one he put on Craigslist and someone flew down to buy it (we told them it was burning a lot of oil, new crate engine would be $20,000 in 2009) but it had the Recaro seats. I'm now looking at S5? For some reason I don't like fit and finish of BMW. As a daily driver I have a 2022 Acura MDX and I really like it. It has the red stitching on the black seats it looks more like a Jag.

Had the same HP fuel line leak. Kept smelling gas from engine compartment, 2017 E300. Finally discovered the leak, took car to closest dealer, and they wanted to charge me almost $300 for repair, even though it was still in warranty (CPO). The service rep said “that’s the basic certified pre owned warranty and doesn’t cover a fuel line issue”. I called MB directly to no avail. They said they have to stand behind their dealerships decision. The car was still in warranty with nearly 36k miles. I then called the MB dealer I purchased the car from and their service manager called the MB dealer that had my vehicle. Next morning I got a call from them saying their manager called MB North America and said they would honor the repair at no cost. About three weeks later the MB service bulletin came to me in the mail in connection with the High Pressure fuel leak. This is my first Mercedes and most likely the last.

Update: sold mine after the CPO expired. I won’t buy another MB. Ended up buying a Tesla M3P. The car is amazing, the purchase, delivery and service has been great. If Tesla keeps their “no dealerships” policy in place I will probably remain a loyal customer. Buying a car through them takes away almost all of the stress.

Its supposed to do that. Its a safety setting the keeps the window from crashing something. There are several videos that show you how to reset it.

That thing with the window happened to me, I took it to the dealership and fix it in a matter of minutes, some programing or resets I guess. No cost. Are you planning on putting a dash cam in the car? It will be nice to see a video with recommendaitons.

That is why I couldn't get myself to buy a 'luxury' car. The repair expenses will be out of this world. You can always buy a high-end vehicle, maintaining it would be the big question there. One just pays for the brand name - that's it.
