This is the game that turned Michigan’s season upside down with Speight injury.

Harbaugh handcuffed him like he did all our other QBs. QBs and WR's can't develop being limited to 13 to 17 throws a game at this time. Hopefully JJ isn't handcuffed this year and Harbaugh doesn't cut the WR's off in the Redzone in favor of TE's

Bryan Zachery, the refs cheated Michigan again, they got paid off.....we beat Michigan state fair and square, we beat MSU in 2015 but the the refs cheated and didn't call an off side penalty on the botched punt, the refs cheated us in the Iowa loss and again against Ohio State, we got hosed!!!!the refs were paid off again in the FSU bowl loss!!!!!

AT LEAST, let him start the MS game. At worst, give him the second half. Jim is just stupid if he doesn't ride this train of success. 1/10 vs 3/3 in the red zone. How do you argue that stat.

Is it just me or do you think that Purdue plays dirty as hell? Especially with the Speight play that injured his Neck and the second targeting that was clearly aimed to hit O'Korn in the head.
@ThoseWhoStayUofM7 жыл бұрын
They didn't call a penalty for targeting on that play. I agree that he dove on Speight, but it was after the play had ended and obviously a late hit. Yes, Purdue played very dirty. Every targeting penalty Purdue received was blatantly targeting and the correct call. Desmond Williams has no clue.
@TMLF_817 жыл бұрын
ThoseWhoStayUofM thank you. Glad someone agrees, i do however think the first target wasn't on purpose because O'Korn underthrew the receiver causing him to go downward and it gave the defender no area to attempt to make a legal hit.
@ThoseWhoStayUofM7 жыл бұрын
Russell Westbeast, it is the responsibility of the defender to avoid contact with the head or neck area of a defenseless player. It is the responsibility of the coaches to teach their defensive backs to avoid the receiver's head and neck area breaking on a crossing route over the middle. You are not allowed to hit the receiver head on like that otherwise it's targeting a defenseless player. If he didn't do it on purpose, then he did it out of negligence. He did it. This is not an intent crime. You're correct that it would be very difficult to legally hit the receiver. When a receiver is going down for a pass, low to the ground, a safety breaking on the pass that cannot make a play on the ball must avoid contact with the receiver. It's either negligence or on purpose. Either way, you know that you're about to hit a player in the head that cannot defend himself but you do it anyway because you want the tackle, because you like to hit, because you want to injure... I don't care. It's dirty to hit defenseless players in the head and it's a personal foul and will get you rightfully ejected.
@johnstanko79477 жыл бұрын
Look at the hit at 8:40
@ThoseWhoStayUofM7 жыл бұрын
John Stanko, I looked at it. What about it? That is literally a perfectly clean football play. The helmet came off after the player hit the ground, not due to the impact of the hit itself. Safeties are allowed to hit offensive receivers as they come into contact with the ball. They're coached to hit receivers in this way. Everything Michigan did at 8:40 is fundamentally sound football technique. To clarify, at 8:40, the pass was high and the defender did not go down to contact the receiver in the head or neck area. It is when the pass is low, and the defender lowers his head into the receiver, that the defender should be coached not to go down to make a hit. At 8:40, the pass was high and the defender made a clean hit on the receiver that was not at the head or neck area. Review the tape.

I need to see more of O'Korn. His start last year scared me. But, this game was promising
@chicagoPTer7 жыл бұрын
And you've seen enough from Speight to believe he can be the QB for this offense? O'korn accomplished more in 1/2 of a game then what Wilton has for over 3 games this year. Also, those conditions last year were horrible. Throwing the ball when it's that cold and windy is going to make any passing attack look bad.
