We just got this SUV a few weeks ago in Brown Quartz. We love everything about it - absolutely no complaints. Rides great and comfortable and love the appearance as well. As far as the third row, we will most likely never use it, but it's great to know that it is there if we ever need it. We just keep it folded down which gives us a very large space in the back. I highly recommend this SUV - and you can't beat the warranty.

Seriously this car is fantastic for the money! Very strong reliable and powerful, the inside is very big while the vehicle on the outside is not that large -thus great for city driving and long journey. Unfortunately you hear a lot of morons going on about the Audis, Merc, BMW, Range Rover, Volvo suvs which way more expensive, and are not as reliable as this vehicle! I've owned this car it's f***ing great, don't listen to the majority of car advice channels (e.g. Carwow, auto trader, car advise) they talk up expensive cars, that are no where near as good as their Japanese counterparts.

There's a dealership group (three dealers) in Los Angles/Orange County that's selling an SE with the 2.4/CVT and 4WD for $19,000 after rebate and discounts ($18,500 if you're a current Mitsu owner or military). That's as cheap as a typical economy/compact car. Its competitors are going for at least five grand more for comparable equipment and drive train. I know its not as polished as a RAV4 or CRV or has the same resale value, but $5,000 (or more) is a hell of a lot of money to save up front.

Great review. I own a 2017 but mine didn’t come with the adaptive cruise control or front and side cameras or power lift gate. I think since mine’s paid off, I’ll buy the 2020 with all the bells & whistles. Again, very thorough review. If this is something you do for a living, you’ve found your Calling.

I should have gotten this to be honest. I was choosing between the 2017 Ford Escape and this. The reason i did not choose this at the time was a few reasons: no rear A/C vents, the dealerships i went to was not working on the price with me, and the Ford dealership gave me a .90% interest rate on the Escape...which is pretty good. After a few months, I see i could have gotten more bang for my $$$ if i would have gotten the Outlander GT, because it offers more tech inside than what I paid for with the Escape. I also like the rear seats how they can move up and down to add more space unlike other brands where the rear seat is stuck in the same area without being able to adjust the leg room. I see the inside of the Outlander like a real roomy SUV (not including the 3rd row) where people can stretch out and relax. I also wish the Outlander had more power outlets, A/C vents, and other stuff to make it more comfortable for the long drive. I like to take road trips, go off road at times, and have friends go with me when i do these activities. Well now i have to wait a bit, but soon the EV mode will be coming out soon...thats going to be cool!

America does not get the Diesel but this may not be a bad thing, a friend of mine down under has the Diesel but what with the DPF which has to have a hot blast every so often to burn up the particles requiring an injection of extra Diesel to assist in the hot burn. The sump oil is getting diluted by Diesel fuel and this can affect the lubricating ability, also when checking your oil level you can find variations on the dip stick indicating what would seem to be an overfill. He is paying AU$400 for a service every 7,500 Km, which is a rip off.He is not happy.

WATCH OUT FOR LEMON & POOR CVT Outlander. Bought new 2017 Model 4cyl in Jan 2018, had first transmission removal around 4300 miles. Engine Oil leaked through CVT torque convertor area. Same problem kept happen within 3000 miles range, Lemon lawsuit case filed and still waiting for anything from Mitsubishi. 10yr / 100000 miles Powertrain warrenty does not cover 100% for this matter. Luckily my bumper to bumper covered those issues.

It is a shame that some Mitsubishi dealers will try to find any excuse not not to honor the bumper to bumper 60,000 Mile Warranty. No matter how great of a product is...if you have issues and you take it to the dealership to get fixed and you are given the run around so the dealership does not have to bother to send a warranty claim to Mitsubishi that will hold their money for some time. Mitsubishi dealers are digging their own grave and soon they will be just like Suzuki Dealers....GONE...

If it's a power lift gate, there is a button on the "bottom" of the gate itself to close it. Otherwise to open there is a button in the car (left side by the wheel) or simply put pressure on the lift gate button from the gate itself.
