I owned this car for a few years and I LOVED it....traded it in for a 2019 Corvette and created a KZbin channel to share my ownership experiences but I am honestly thinking of buying this SUV again! It was that good....Great review

Excellent review. I actually went out to purchase a 2017.5 Murano shortly after watching this. About 4 weeks into ownership now and so far it has been a fantastic vehicle.

@@TheNovakReport Unfortunately, I don't. I normally keep my daily driver for a few years. It's safe to say the Murano was one of the best vehicles I had - comfy, reliable and a luxurious ride. I had no issues with the CVT transmission everyone is edgy about.

Why do they still use the plastic cheap looking material on the steering wheel and around the Nav/radio screen? Are those replaceable?

I used to have a 2012 Murano ST and the interior and exterior is a lot more organized with all the switches and buttons and does not look really "bare bones" as compared to the 2017 car. Now I upgraded to an Audi Q7 and it doesn't compare despite being twice the price of the 2012 Murano ST at the time of purchase.

I have a 2016, with 12K miles on it. Really like it, looks great, and been a good runner for me so far. But there are 2 things I hate. The push button controls on the steering wheel are awful, IMO. They don't seem to have a logical layout, and you can't really read them easily while driving to see what they are. The other is the radio/map screen. It is impossible to read while wearing polarized sunglasses. I'm a radio station button pusher, and I can't see the buttons while wearing my shades. And even with them off, and you have the sun shining on the display, it is basically unreadable. I have a Ford Explorer monochrome screen, and I can read that with my sunglasses on, with the sun shining on it.

Agreed, the volume controls are in the wrong spot, too low. Funny thing is that I rented a Rogue in the spring and it had a D-shaped steering wheel with a much better layout and better functioning. Why a lower model has better features is poor design in my opinion.

I just got a 2017 Murano SL. It is a really nice vehicle and with about 1,500km on it now, I am enjoying the drive and the space. The one big disappointment is the Nissan Connect, I spend a lot of work time in my vehicle and so having a good connection between my smartphone and the car is an important piece for me. I was told that as of January the Murano came with Auto Play, this factored into my decision. However that was not the case and now I have very mediocre technology. My dealer is seeing about a retro-fit as it was announced as available. When will automakers learn to NOT reinvent the wheel. Consumers don't want to learn smartphone technology and then learn the automakers technology to be able to work the two together. Nissan consumers have been paying for all this research and technology (Nissan Connect) and no one wants it. Just give us integration, ie. Car Play.

Thanks Pierre! Admittedly I haven't put much of a focus on connectivity up until now in my reviews, but it's likely something I'll need to adjust. I agree that it's becoming more of a factor in purchase decisions, so I'll certainly keep this in mind going forward.

Pierre C. Omg I'm sorry that's the biggest problem right now I'm with Nissan and it's heartbreaking Hyundai is updating all of their older cars I think 2015 and up so they will all have Apple car play. Nissan has a sorry excuse. I wanted to get the 2017 Nissan rogue but now I feel like I might wait to see if the 2018 Nissan rogue will have CarPlay

Update on my Nissan Connect. After 14,000 km of driving the Nissan Connect is no better. Half the time the call display does not function, text messaging is an advertised feature on the web site but does not work with my iPhone 6S. About 20% of the time the phone will not link to the car, even when hard wired, what is bizarre is that my music will play and the car recognizes my iPhone as an iPod. Nissan Connect and the dealer have been involved but have not been able to help. Nissan Connect wants me to stop the car for five minutes when the connection does not work. This fixes the problem but come on, not a practical solution. The dealer has verified the firmware and software and all "appears" normal. I have no choice but to live with this finicky system. My biggest beef is that the system is advertised/promoted as having these connection features but that is not true. My 2015 Buick Regal (previous vehicle) had technology that was two years older but worked much better. Even to the point to lower fan speed when a call came in. Now that was a consumer oriented feature.

Watch out on the design of the Nissan Murano 2018. Have a 2017 model and the dashboard trim/vent which are light colored are casting it's image on both side mirrors. In my opinion a Very Bad Safety Design. You would not have a clear view of what is on the vehicles sides during daylight ours. Watch out ... Called Nissan and they don't care about it, said it is not a factory defect. So, see for yourselves.

I have had two Murano Ti's The first was in 2005 & the current model from 2010. Unfortunately for me and many Australians, Nissan decided to stop importing them into our country. My current speed is 180,000ks. I'd love to have a current model to drive. I find there is ample room, as I'm very tall. The car in very responsive, excellent appointments. A great car to drive. Thank you Nissan.

Check when the car warms up run the transmission through the gears and see if you hear a thump after the gear catches I curious to find out how many people have this issue also when in park rev the engine and when the rpm comes down to about 1000 rpm see if you hear a thump

I owned a Nissan Murano years ago, its the worse decision I made to buy this scrap. Not only the quality its poor, but the service. I live in Mexico and the Nissan shops are very corrupt, they steal the people by not doing the service they should. Tons of people report they don’t get the oil changes and replacement parts they charge. Problems are never solved properly and there are tons of complaints. I am glad they are sawing what they deserve. I made may complaints and never receive attention, Now I am with Honda, Ford and GM. Better quality at least for the same or better price cars.
