Nissan’s Pathfinder can handle a family and its stuff with the looks and capability of an all-wheel drive crossover, rather than a minivan. For 2017, Nissan has updated the Pathfinder by tightening its headlight design, redesigning the taillights, and adding a more aggressive grille. Inside, things look much the same as the 2016 model, and that’s fine, because the Pathfinder has a great cabin.
The Pathfinder gets a 3.5-liter V6, which has been updated for 2017 to make 284 hp-up from 260. That’s a noticeable bump. Whether it's pulling away from a stop light, getting up to highway speeds, or even making a pass at highway speeds, that added power is noticeable, and it also means a larger 6,000-pound towing capacity-1,000 lbs more than the Pilot and Highlander can manage.
The Pathfinder has 8 cup holders, 6 bottle holders, and plenty of cubbies and compartments. All trims get 7-passenger seating with a middle bench and a 50/50-split third row. Access to the third row is easy, though as third rows go, it’s middle of the pack. Read more on CarGurus: cargur.us/gpvHm

BryB I like Nissan but the pathfinder is the least reliable suv in its segment,bought a explorer for long term reliability,but overall,I'll always love nissan,I wish you the best with your pathfinder,that's not a jab,honestly if she likes it,I hope it works out for you guys for a long time.

Thanks for a nice review. I agree that the infotainment system is dated but fail to understand the constant hate this vehicle gets online from everyone. We own a 2015 model and are quite happy with it. This refresh addresses the omissions in my model year vehicle like the kick-to-open lift gate, led headlamps, forward collision avoidance and radar cruise control. Guess haters are gonna hate but don't know how many have actually test driven this one against the competition.

The front end doesn't look bad, but those all red tail lights do & they're not even LED. Wtf? Looks like the 1st gen. Rogue in the back... The 2013-2016 model looked better IMO

Unfortunately the controls on the inside are identical to my 2012 Murano (read...out of date). Those controls date back even further than that. Prop rod for the hood, no struts, roof antenna, no shark fin, no dual exhaust. It's all old tech, and when I looked at one, all of those were a deal breaker for me.

I'm 83 and have had loads of Nissans because I love all their reliable safety features and 5 star crash figures. I love their CVT electronics that respond so fast and give you just the right acceleration every time. Great to drive and never ever had any problems whatsoever, and never met anyone who did. So where exactly do yo get your strange info from? Ford dealer maybe? I've had Toyota Sienna and Honda Odyssey that broke down all the time but were rarely registered as breakdowns and were logged as 'Recalls' or 'Mods' to massage their reliability figures. The 360 view is essential in my view but you don't even get a sat nav on the same year Odyssey or Sienna, never mind 4wd. You don't tell us what you did get to drive?

@@teknicol My strange info is from many consumer reviews from numerous car websites advising ppl to stay away from the Pathfinder due to the CVT issues. Yes, I'm sure there are owners of this generation of the vehicle that have had no trouble whatsoever just as you claim, but there are far too many complaints about reliability for me to consider this vehicle. I have a Hyundai Santa Fe V6, a very solid and reliable vehicle in my personal experience.

I Love Your Hate Ggggggg ... yes it's car but ,,,, 1. Problems with the transmission speed. 2. The car weight is heavy relative to the speed conveyor. 3. The rear air-conditioner openings are ineffective due to the size and location. 4. The back door has no handle.

This new exterior looks worse, imo. And that interior looks straight up OLD. I'd argue it looks worst in class
