Thanks so much for posting. The whole idea was to let people know the features of the Rogue. I pick up cars for Nissan on dealer trades so I get to know the cars. Enjoy your Rogue.

Your welcome. I drove all models of Nissan cars on dealer trades. The Rogue SL Platinum is still my favorite pick.

I wanted to let you know, Jim, that last Saturday I test drove a 2018 Nissan Rogue SV, Midnight Edition, in the pearl white color. I thought it was the nicest looking Rogue on the lot. the Rogue is everything you said it was. it was very comfortable, the interior materials were of high quality. it has all the safety features we would need. I did think the engine was a little weak, but when I was on the freeway, I put it in the sport mode like you suggested and it was okay. just one minor question. do you know if the seats are still the zero gravity seats?? Nissan used to put that on the window sticker but I noticed on this window sticker it did not say zero gravity seats. just curious. we're not ready to buy just yet but when we do I think this Rogue will be at the top of our list. looking forward to your review of the 2018 Rogue to see if you notice any differences between them and the 2017's.

Yes heard the Midnight Edition Rogues are real nice. As far as I know they still make the Zero Gravity seats. I have been asking Nissan to do a review of the 2018 Rogue, They want me to wait till they get a SL model and review that one. I will post the review. Good time to buy right now ( year end ).

I really enjoyed your review, it was very thorough. I'm thinking of buying a rogue but I wanted to get your opinion of the drivetrain. I've been reading that the engine is weak. the other vehicles I'm considering are the Honda CRV and the Hyundai Santa Fe Sport. my wife would be driving it more than I would. I would like her to have something that has decent passing power on the freeway. so I would like your opinion of the engine. I also wish it would have an electronic parking brake. I'm a senior with arthritis in my knees and sometimes it can be very painful to lift up my leg to press down the parking brake.

Thank you, I am retired and have been doing dealer trades for Nissan for 3 years now. I have driven a lot of cars mostly Nissan but we do bring other models to the car auction. They don't make a 6 cylinder in the Rogue but the 4 cylinder with the sport mode is impressive for freeway driving. The Rogue does have the D steering wheel that allows for more leg room. When we do our dealer trades in the winter we would always ask for the Rogue because of the AWD ( All Wheel Drive ). I like the Subaru Legacy 6 cylinder ( Check out my review of the 2017 Subaru Legacy ) The Subaru have the electronic parking brake. I would recommend the Toyota Highlander I have heard nothing but good remarks on the Toyota Highlander, it does come in a 6 cylinder model but I believe it has the regular parking brake. You may want to look at the Kia models they have some nice models. I have driven the Honda CRV and Hyundai Santa Fe Sport but they were older models that we brought to the car auction.

Jim McLaren Thanks for the advice, Jim. My wife drives an 08 Altima. She said she would like to move up to an suv. But she hates to go to dealers. So I'm doing research on different ones. My car is the 2015 Legacy (3.6 R, limited). You are right: it is a nice car. It's had a couple of minor recalls. But all cars are going to have those, mainly because of the complicated software. I have had one issue, the battery. In just under three years, I'm on my third battery. The dealer can't find anything wrong. The starter, alternator are fine. They said they don't know why my batteries don't last. I subscribed to your reviews. You have reviewed cars I like. I'm looking forward to viewing them.

Thanks for subscribing, maybe try Auto trader to look for your next car. Nissan had a similar problem with one of their customers and eventually found a loose ground wire. Going to do a review of 2018 Rogue soon.

damn I couldnt even tell the engine was still on when you stepped inside.

thanks, this Platinum Rogue will likely be my next purchase.

I'd get it too, but I'll wait until the new model is availalbe for 2019. My '14 civic will suffice for now. Hopefully by then they have ventilated seats and a stronger engine available. I'm not very satisfied with the SUVs this year.
@TheMohawk1027 жыл бұрын
wish the rogue came in 6 cylinders
@JimMcLaren19507 жыл бұрын
Yes I would like a 6 cylinder, I was surprised when they said it only comes in 4 cylinder.

Try doing 5 minutes of research. The divide and hide system is not new for the 2017 year. Should probably learn the word for sub woofer.
@JimMcLaren19507 жыл бұрын
Thanks for pointing that out to me, divide and hide was new to me. Sub Woofer now I know what that speaker is , thank you.
