Wow! That interior is downright upscale! A visit to our local auto show this past weekend determined the Rogue and Rogue Sport had the most comfortable front seats among, not only their respective segment competitors, but many luxury vehicles. The front seats in most other vehicles were hard and flat. Great job Nissan!

Mercedes GLC has similar (optional) propilot like technology, and I find it very useful in stop and go traffic. At very low speed, in creeping traffic it is nearly self driving. At high speeds on the highway it does tend to "ping pong" a bit within the lane, which is annoying. Sounds like Nissan might have solved that issue.

Yes, the Nissan system does not weave back and forth. It's pretty impressive.

I just purchased a 2022 Mustang Mach-e and it appears to me that my 2018 Nissan Rogue's ProPilot assist is better than Ford's Blue Cruise. It centers the lane better. Btw, I believe my Rogue once saved me from hitting the front car by braking harder than me. Love this car though the mileage is no where near the EPA rating reported.

My Wife has one of these as a rental right now with all the options I don't know why anybody would buy this. It lacks power the CVT transmission is very noisy and it's not a pleasant noise. The safety features to me seem overrated and frankly I would probably turn them all off. She has also had two Ford Escape rentals with pretty much all the options and we both feel that was a much better SUV.

@DrivenCarReviews6 жыл бұрын
... or a smart human acting dumb I like to think in my case. And funny you should mention the Volvo because I priced it out the other day. Comparably equipped it would be about 4K more than the Nissan. If the 40's semi autonomous system is the same as other Volvos I've used, the Nissan's ability to stay within the lane, take curves and adapt to traffic ahead is noticeably better. Seriously. I'll be driving the XC40 soon, I'm sure it's quicker than the Rogue.

@DrivenCarReviews6 жыл бұрын
It's actually a very smart decision. In heavy rain (or low visibility situations), chances are it can't read the stripes well so it simply says "nope, not going to lull you into a false sense of security". .
@wilmotown6 жыл бұрын
Driven Car Reviews Ah, well, I can see the logic there. It just seemed like a very backward effect for such a cause. Is this common practice among automakers?
@niuhuskieguy6 жыл бұрын
Although I see the logic, I think it would be better to allow it to work as long as it can adaqutely see the lane lines. I have a Subaru with Eyesight and the system remains on as long as the cameras can see (it uses only cameras for all functions) and it has only turned off for inclement weather maybe 2 times.
@wilmotown6 жыл бұрын
niuhuskieguy I have a 2017 Hyundai Elantra Limited, with Lane Keep Assist and Adaptive Cruise, not to mention Autonomous Emergency Braking. It’s shut off on me before in certain situations, citing an AEBraking failure- I wonder if it coincided with the wipers, as I thought it was just bad weather and didn’t think about that possibility. I’ll have to test it out.

Driving in traffic is no place for 'boy racers' to pretend they are at the Motor Speedway. I LIKE the new safety technology and cannot wait for driverless cars. They will allow older people independence in travel AND safety for themselves and for others on the roads around them. Fewer accidents mean fewer insurance claims and, hopefully, lower premiums (if state insurance departments do their job.) When better developed, this technology should more than pay its way.
@MrButtlettuce6 жыл бұрын
James Ellsworth They can take a cab old woman.
@kevinchung14926 жыл бұрын
Yes get a cab but elder / teens /drunk won't listen to you. I like the feature as long as I can override it. Maybe program it the way elder/teens/driver with bad record can't override. I like driving on the mountain road or open freeway but not stop and go traffic. Driverless would help me ease up on stress. I would be mad when they take away the steering someday...
@jamesellsworth96736 жыл бұрын
That is what I was thinking, too. I have had my days with a Porsche and mountain roads and enjoyed them. I still enjoy driving. I know many people who have had to give up driving due to age: cabs don't work for them because they have to wait a good while for one to come to pick them up and then to come to take them back. Senior transport services use vans that have steep stairs. Not everyone needs a chair lift. They run routes, so waiting in whatever weather is still an issue. Being able to keep a vehicle and to have it safely and conveniently take you to where you want to go and back gets to be pretty important. Paired with GPS, even long-distance touring becomes an option again!
@backyardstrummer38566 жыл бұрын
James, the difference between humans and computers is vast. Driverless cars will always suffer from the fact that they can and will be hacked en masse, should we ever be so foolish as to allow them on the road. That could literally lead to the end of the world. Sounds hyperbolic but it is a undeniable hypothetical that can't happen if we keep humans as the drivers. All cars with some level of autonomy should also have the ability to have their autonomous features completely disabled and the vehicle still be able to be driven in a completely manual mode, without any safety features being given control over the human driver.
