Race control in this race was absolutely abysmal. From the competition cautions helping specifically Penske's tire woes, to penalizing Chavez for Rahal's mistake, to opting for WAY TOO MUCH downforce in the first place, to Kanaan being able to get his laps back after causing that big one.

I completely agree with hinchcliffe that was Kansans fault he turned right into 3 and 4 and Aleshin came up to make it 3 wide and since his spotter didn’t tell him that Kanaan was turning right into a left hander he was not going to back off and Hinch had nowhere to go

I’m confused, at the start of this it showed Takuma Sato win the INDY 500, and it said Ruoff on the side, Marty snider said that the car he raced this race was the car he won at Indy with, please explain

@xtlm7 жыл бұрын
To be fair, Texas hols 180,000. If 70,000 showed up it would still look like nothing.
@TMJ327 жыл бұрын
True. I suppose crowds can look a lot worse at ovals because it's just a couple big grandstands. It always looks like nobody is at IndyCar races though, I've never been able to find hard attendance numbers to know one way or the other but it sure looks like they're struggling for people to go to the track.
@xtlm7 жыл бұрын
Yeah, they definitely are depending on the Track. Half the races fill the stands nicely, most of the rest moderately then a few that are struggling. The street/road courses seem to get better crowds ATM. I was at Fontana 2015, us 5000 fans were the lucky few. It's a shame that the league is struggling the way it is becasue I think it's great.

Road America is insanely packed on race day. It's hard to even just find a proper seating position. We have to get to the track at 7 AM just to sit in turn 5 and have decent seats lol. (The race would start at 12:15)

Was amazing to watch live. Too bad it had to finish under caution. IndyCar, it's really time to look at implementing overtime. Finishing under yellow just ain't cool.
@tommythetreat0007 жыл бұрын
Nah leave the Mickey Mouse rules to NASCAR. Why do you think their ratings and attendance are going down?
@ChefLynnGB7 жыл бұрын
What's wrong with evolution and innovation? In case you weren't aware IndyCar's ratings have been tanking faster than NASCAR's. All things like that are tanking because of social media so don't try to pass that off as the reason.
@tommythetreat0007 жыл бұрын
I believe that if a race is scheduled for a certain number of laps it should end at that number, period. Going past the scheduled distance just to try to end the race under green is just too gimmicky IMO.
@ChefLynnGB7 жыл бұрын
What you call "gimmicky" I call progress/evolution. We need to do something. Finishing under caution is bullshit. Either implement overtime or automatically red-flag any incident with fewer than a designated number of laps to go and have a restart.
@CobaltET7 жыл бұрын
So you want to just overturn how racing has been done worldwide for the last century? That's a little silly, I don't think you're thinking about the fact that if they did "overtime" drivers will inevitably make crazy dive bomb moves to try and improve their position because its their last chance. All it would result in is lots of crashes and huge amounts of money being spent on crashed cars because of stupid "overtime."
