2017 S550 Mustang No start/ Dead Battery Ruined My PCM?

After sitting for a few months this winter I went to start my car and the battery is dead. Unfortunately It's looking to be more than just a battery. Have a look as I try to figure out why my 2017 S550 Mustang will not start. At this point I suspect the tune is lost or the pcm has been wiped. I've contacted Palm Beach dyno to see if they have any input to help me.

Theres a possibility that when the Battery Voltage drops to 6/7V, the transistors or other semiconductors inside the PCM no longer switch properly and cause a drain or short out other components within the computer.

When I crank it it drops to 8.7 and I heard that is not okay

Have a wrecked 15 cant get to start either cranks but no fire been trying to figure it out might have to take the pcm into consideration thanks for the tip.

Do you have communication with the pcm. If yes, then you're probably fine and it's something else.

@@Beacon_Offroad so i have 2015 mustang gt its used but has JTL intake and exhaust i have only owned it for week or so but got a check engine light tested got powertrain control module with multi missfires but car doesnt drive different. had code reset waiting to see if it comes back on. i would appericiate any feedback

@@chevyssboy89 my problem was car had a tune and cats removed i got a sct livewire + and retuned it myself still get the code but livewire clears it out

I have a stock 2018 gt350 that’s been having starter issues. I would hear clicks/fuel pump, but no crank. If I wait a few hours (after car has cooled down), it would then sometimes start up just fine. Any ideas? I noticed this mostly occurs on track days when I run the car hot.

Hard to say without proper diag. Sounds like maybe a issue with start circuit. Especially if eventually starts. If you can catch it when it happens, you'll want to find out if its getting a start signal (12v) at the small wire on the starter. If so, starter if not go. If its not, you'll have to look at electrical, ie relay, wiring, push button, etc...

@@Mel-md6cb Check out my header install video at about the 8:10 mark. I pull the starter. Theres only 2 wires. the large one is direct feed from the battery, always has 12v. The small one is the start signal. When clutch is pushed in and Start button pushed, 12v will be at this wire to engage starter. When your issue is happening youll need to perform this test. @@Beacon_Offroad awesome! I’ll check that video out. But get this! Have you heard of Ford’s BMS (Battery Management System). Seems like that’s the main issue for most Ford cars with these symptoms. Most people just unplug them and problem solved!
