I made a test ride on a street glide special, no vibrations in the handlebar and steps.Very good sound with the open airfilter and screamin eagle.mufflers. very good torque . Ilike the idle speed 850 rpm. But i still love my 2016 low-rider-s i bought this year.

y does the 2017 street glide front forks look like it's almost a straight down 90degrees angle where the front tire looks like it's almost in the engine or it must be in your GoPro I don't know but I always wanted to Streetlight I'm on the Street Glide Special but I want it in that beautiful gunmetal Grey not the black but anyway it's beautiful it's gorgeous and I knew when I seen that 107 Waukee I really would like that 114 Milwaukee and see what that does because you can even here but ever so slightly the difference in the rumble of the motor even though it's not with the 1:07 on it anyway it's gorgeous and I love it I always will but I can't afford it so I'm really fighting over right now and the Breakout and the V-Rod Muscle or Night Rod muscle.... Basically I love the 240 rear tire and the bigger engine obviously and the oil cooling system anyway thanks for putting out a very great video on the street like I love him I love the new Milwaukee 8 and I can't wait to get on one and take it home!.... Thanks again

Hey Matt. Any major differences between the 2017 and 2018 other than the cosmetic changes ?
@onlyhereonce72908 жыл бұрын
I like how the intro section of the video is more involved and exciting. Good job on that. Imho it could be about 2 seconds shorter though. It seems to drag on at the end. Ok. A solid review of the SGS Matt. And a clear game plan. You stated what you were going to include in your video. And you did that admirably. Your video was fun to watch. And you really knocked it out of the park with this latest video. Much improved. You got this Matt. 😎

Thanks Richard. I also appreciate your honest opinion about the intro. Thanks for the positive feedback about the video too.

No more pinstriping in the paint for the Street Glide Specials? I can't make up my mind between a 2016 Rushmore or the 2017 M8. Take off the gas tank to change spark plugs. Really?
@fabioalibrandi4 жыл бұрын
Hello, sorry I wanted to ask you but the steering of this Street is true that driving it becomes heavy, hard, and to drive it is better the Road Glide? Since I would like to buy it I like it so much preferring the engine 107, but a friend of mine told me that the same engine gave problems. Thank you for your ✌🏻 availability
@cherrypieguy8 жыл бұрын
From a sales standpoint I fuckin hate Harley D. You Know why? Because they go from 2014 Rushmore to NOW 2017 HD. Difference? New motor ONLY for those who are buying NOW. Poor guys who bought a 2016 BAGGER get Fu......cked. Also, anybody who hates baggers gets fu.....cked. Victory has a 106 engine for years, although I don't care for them but crap wait until they change their OLD MOTOR. Polaris made the new 110 Indian and now await for the new VIC. HD is WAY behind the Power/Coooooling transition engine thing. HD knows what they are doing. They are slowly fu...ing me for a looooooooonnnnnng time. and everyone else. That's right. Looong Time, Boston..Brad Delp and Tom Scholz. BTW, who and the heck wants a Softail Slim or a Heritage Classic with the old engine now that we have the Milwaukee 108 people? Not me. So if I don't LIKE BAGGERS. By the way, Baggers Mag is a joke. Just read and look at all the hoopla commercial BS in the Mag before you get to reading anything pertinent. Forecast....Baggers Mag will CLOSE soon. Now to say, Yes, I have visited Laid LAW HD and was impressed with their knowledgeable sales staff. Goood knowledgeable peope.
@kylemoore96267 жыл бұрын
cherrypieguy so no one should ever release a new engine? What about all those poor people that bought 6.0 power strokes in 2007 then the 6.4 came out in 2008? Flawed logic bro.

the 2016 breakout & the vrod muscle, now the breakout is basically More biased off the muscle Right!.. the only thing different on booth Harley Davidson motorcycles is just THE breakouts More for passengers friendly. and the vrod muscle is more basically for having fun And though they have the same motor and rear wheel the 240 rear wheels and Booth just the front end of the breakout is different from the muscle but They are basically the same for the 2016 not the newest models!!..
@MattLaidlaw8 жыл бұрын
The breakout is a big twin, air cooled, 103 CI engine. The Vrod muscle is completely different. It's the 1250 cc water cooled 4 valve, overhead cam etc

Hey Matt, I have a super dumb question I'm sure. I've ridden and owned plenty of bikes, none with a front fairing like the batwing. I'm looking to rent a SG for a 3 day trip coming up. If you had to guess, would someone who is 5'9" be able to see over the fairing relatively easily? Is this even an issue? I want to just sit on one to see but haven't had the chance yet. Thanks.
@MattLaidlaw5 жыл бұрын
It won’t be an issue. Some people have this weird need to be able to see directly in front of them which is unnecessary. I know people shorter than you that ride them just fine.

Hey Matt love the videos. I just bought a 2017 street glide and it is my first Harley ever. I hear a fair amount of valvetrain noise under load that increases as rpms increase. Would you say this is normal?....
@MattLaidlaw7 жыл бұрын
To a certain extent - yes. Generally speaking HD's have considerably more engine mechanical noise than other makes. They did, however, reduce this with the new Milwaukee 8. If you're at all concerned have a dealer take a look at it while it's still under warranty. It's probably fine though.

Can you start this Bike (2014 Street Glide Special) in first gear ? or do You have to put the bike in neutral before it starts? I recently had my rear wheel replaced and I thought I stated my bike in first gear. But when I tried to start it, nothing...The flashers (Hazard lights came on along with the infotainment system. Then I put the bike in neutral and it started. Thanks !
@MattLaidlaw7 жыл бұрын
Phillip Ellington It's possible to start it in first with the clutch pulled in. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS. It's a lot harder on your starter motor. If the flashers were going off then that is a security fob issue.
@phillipellington29667 жыл бұрын
Thanks !! I read in the owner's manual to start in neutral. But before I had the service replacing my rear tire. I was able to start in first gear. I noticed you said other brands copy HD on some things, I never hear HD people say when HD copys others ? the 4 valve single cam and counter ballanced motor was brought out in 1999 buy Yamaha and it was the bullet proff Roadstar 1602 cc and also now on the Roadliner and Stratoliner 1900 cc motors and they are all of that you say this M8 is and yes HD knew those motors
@MattLaidlaw8 жыл бұрын
So, Harley had a 4 valve head before any of those companies even existed.
@kevincarter58548 жыл бұрын
no not a 4 valve counter ballanced single cam FI motor, no way and you know as well as I do they watch the others to see whats working and not to mention no heating problems from the Yamahas, no need for watered heads and you know I'm right dude
@MattLaidlaw8 жыл бұрын
Right about what? Yes, everyone takes notice of each other. Yamaha Vstars try so desperately to copy the look sound and feel of a Harley. Is the 4 valve head a new innovation of course not. Fuel injection is nothing new. Single cam is nothing new, counter balancer are nothing new. It's the combination and design of different configurations that make something new, the quality and how all the moving parts interact with each other. There are so many things that make the Harley engine unique to anything else. Single connecting rod pin, 45 degree angle, off set firing, etc.

With these new engine internal modifications and new completely redesigned exhaust, is it possible to upgrade the exhaust for the traditional Harley exhaust sound?
@MattLaidlaw7 жыл бұрын
Jason Lurf yes, the Milwaukee 8 still has the traditional Harley-Davidson sound. A lot of after market exhaust companies are either just releasing or working on designing new exhaust systems that will fit the new engine. These systems will retain that classic Harley Davidson sound

It handles great in the wind. Countless hours in the wind tunnel went into the new design of the "batwing" fairing.

how would a beginner do on this bike?
@MattLaidlaw7 жыл бұрын
vindzl07 he would struggle.
@vindzl077 жыл бұрын
Matt Laidlaw elaborate please.
@MattLaidlaw7 жыл бұрын
vindzl07 It's a heavy cruiser that has a taller seat height. A big heavy bike isn't good for beginner riders. Plus if you drop it (which all beginners do) you'll be out thousands of dollars due to the damage. Plus good luck picking up the bike if your not really strong. Just not a beginner motorcycle.
