2017 Subaru WRX Perrin Turbo Sump Restrictor

We install a Perrin Turbo Sump Restrictor on Brandon's 2017 Subaru WRX. We are installing this part to help eliminate a lot of the black smoke that is coming from his car and turning his exhaust tips black.

Do you know what that connection is for? And does it matter if it goes above it or below it? I have mine currently installed above the connection but now wondering if I did it wrong. Also a 2017 WRX

I am not 100% sure what it's for. Kevin may know but not too sure. The instructions we had said the 2017 models had that connector and told us to install it below. I'm not sure if it really matters or not. But our instructions told us to go below. Hope that helps!

KB Auto Project after an afternoon full of research, I found out that sensor/plug is actually part of the PCV system for 17+. I reached out to perrin and they said to install it above the sensor, although they don't notice a big difference between above or under. Thanks for a fast reply!

Thanks for the update! We were gonna initially install it above but didn't due to the directions. I wonder if they should change their directions to install it above! But if they didn't notice much difference then I think we'll be ok for now. Haha!

Logan Sheppard I traced it through the engine harness and figured it out that way because the 15/16 doesn't have it which is weird lol
