Hey Mike - I really gotta say thank you. I've been so undecided when it came to knowing what new car I wanted to upgrade to (I'm currently driving a 96 corolla) and I feel like this car finally gave me everything I'm looking for. Why is that? I mean yeah this thing is just a rebranded scion, but after seeing from your video how they improved the interior and got rid of that terrible fake carbon fiber stuff... I finally saw the car I wanted. I know I need to drive it myself to get the final decision, but I feel like you finally got me to where I needed to be. Would it be possible for you to do one of your night videos of this car? Any extras would be the cherry on top for me, but I'd definitely love to see it! wouldve been great with like 3 options tho, 1,8L Petrol, 2,5L petrol or 2,5L hybrid. I belive the 2,5L from the Rav4 is just a drilled 1,8L so it wouldnt weigh anything more or be physically bigger either.

Great video, Mike! It is to bad that the Scion name will no longer live on. At least Scions products will still live on under the Toyota name accept the Tc. I really liked this vehicle when it came out under the Scion name. Now I feel like you are going to see one on every street since it is now under the Toyota and Corrolla name. This is a great looking car. Standard and great looking 17" wheels, body kit, heated and power folded side mirrors, halogen lights and even available TRD lowering springs. I only wish I could add a cold air intake. The lease on my 2015 Cruze is up next year and I'm seriously considering this car. One quick question, does it have Android Auto? I play my music through USB on my infotainment system using my Samsung Galaxy Note 5 phone.

This handles well with rear double wishbone suspension but the vague numb electric power steering takes too much away from the upgraded suspension. If toyota made the steering rack more like a mazda, this car would be a really fun car to drive even with the anemic 1.8 engine.

Yea I like it. Not crazy over CVT's. My wife has a 2013 and its alright. I think Toyota has improved the seats in them. That's by only complaint about it. So if the dealership has some by the time her lease is up we will look at one of these.

I love my Toyota Corolla iM for 2017. The color of mine is the Barcelona Red Metalflake. it also has the CVT 7 speed transmission. The Toyo tires are wonderful and hold the road well, I should know as I used to race sports cars. I have driven it for 5000 miles at this point, had it's first service at Valenti Toyota in Westerly Rhode Island. At first the CVT was a bit slow on the acceleration, however I just put in a K&N air filter in the stock housing. A major difference in pickup. In standard mode, in sport mode it is very fast. I absolutely love this car ! Unlike anything else on the road, it handles well, is very quick, and quite the styling trendsetter. The sound system is very nice and sounds as good as anything I have driven. including my 2007 Miata MX5, a real head turner.

Fyi, I test drove the manual and cvt, I can honestly say that the driving dynamics sucks. Nice exterior styling, ok interior, priced nicely BUT a bore to drive.

Completely agree. Epic fail on Toyota's part. The Yaris 1A has a push button start and is much cheaper. Was interested in this car but not now. Once you go push button start, you never go back!

Dee Ward Yes! My current car is push button start and I will never go back, it's just so convenient. Especially from a perspective of leave it in the purse and Go. Yaris is cheaper and has it, which boggles the mind a bit. Could have something to do with Mazda.

I own a Scion version of it, and please, beware - if you use your windshield front mode ventilation even without a/c mode on, this car gives you very pronounced vibration on the steering wheel while you standing. It's very annoying. Toyota admits vibration but claims its as "normal" for this car.

They probably fixed it in 2017 Corolla. For me it doesn't make a difference, because in the dealership service center and even main office management stuff over the phone they told me that even if the test drive shows that Corolla doesn't have this issue, they will not replace the car for me. I was not offered anything to defuse this issue. Disappointment in Scion and Toyota, since it's their subsidiary company.

Mike Smith There's a kit on ebay for $66 for fog lights. Driver and passenger seats only in this model. There is 1 volt port and 1 usb (i know more is better). But for the price it's a bargain imo.

They need to improve the outward vision. I could barely see out the back window. That was a deal breaker. The gas mileage is also nothing to wrote home about. It felt heavy to me. Not in a bad way, just kind of Dull. The shiny piano plastics are not my Thing, either.

Graham c The infotainment center. but don't worry about it in the slightest. it's pretty shit and it's your standard no frills system. you are better off with an Android auto head unit from JBL,Kenwood or Sony. Or just wait for a Toyota that comes with Android auto. maybe you don't care but it's nice having an 8" screen to use Google maps on, and control your music etc.

Not the same engine as corolla better vvt ,hp, mpg. ADD : Fog light kit EB 69.99 + 0 wired separate of other lights, K&N air filter, Tinted windows, rear air foil, 225/45 Michelin's PILOT SPORT A/S 3+ 136.69 + tire rack much better than Proxies, on stock 17 x 7 inch rims, sway bar bushings, the stock bars are good, ecu tune, holes in airbox, stainless steel brake lines, DOT 4 SBF, Odyssey battery 17 lbs. Remove : spare, jack, tools, second air filter, engine cover. You can ... no thanks: have a sunroof put in, lowering springs, bigger rims. Everyone who sees it loves it. mpg is up to 35 mpg average. Not supposed to be fast, but it can be faster & more efficient. Life is what you make it.
