Great review! Waiting for mine as well. Ordered one from the dealer but another color came in. Looking at either beige, blue or white. For those asking where the units from the Philippines come from, its allocation from the middle east that gets sent here. Its still quite popular in that part of the world

I LOVE FJs, That 4L V6 same engine you see in the 4Runners and they are super reliable engines thats why toyota refuses to upgrade it

Don't the local "newer" dual VVTI FJs have 276hp? iirc they got an hp bump 2011 onwards.

The 2014 models have a really old school outdated head unit. I don't think it even has bluetooth

Yes. They have Bluetooth, it's just a pain in the butt to set-up. I have a Magma 2013 and it has Bluetooth. Voice activated calling, music play for Android/iPhone, again... it's just a MAJOR pain to set up. I don't know what the newer head units sound like, but I actually like my JBL sound system. I don't need my windows rattling from bass. My only complaint, the JBL head unit in my '13 lacks the large touchscreen like in the overseas models. Other differences... no built-in air compressor, no handles on backs of front seats, nodual - 42 gallon gas tanks.

Yep but they are still continually sold brand new even upto this year in some dealerships as a 2020 year model here in the Philippines

@@KyleLiongCars Some would say yes. They are holding their value well. A low mileage 2012-2014 stock can cost you as much as it did new. If it is well modded it can cost a lot more.

@@veedubya4636 Sounds quite similar to what's going on here despite it still being sold here although in small numbers. I've seen a modded 2007 model going for around 60% of brand new prices, and low mileage 2013 models still going for around 75% of brand new prices

The FJ is not a Landcruiser.

Yup it technically isn't, but it's the closest you can get for the money :D Based on a modified LC120 chassis and a homage to the original J40, it's pretty good

Some call it “LandCruiser FJ” in Australia. But as mentioned above, it has the same chassis, drivetrain, suspension as a 120. Prado 120 comes in swb version.

most parts on fj is fully swappable with hilux, 4runner, land cruiser, and lexus of similar years. they were all sourced off the other production lines in japan.
