Awesome truck. I own a 15 Tundra trd pro and a 16 4runner trd pro (wifes truck), I can say these are worth every penny if you can find a way to own one. Note the trap door at 2:57 that opens so you can change the oil without removing the skid plate. Tundra has this but not 4runner, its a PITA to remove it and change oil, only complaint.

Really love my 17 Tacoma off road it's light years ahead of a 17 Chevy Silverado I just got rid of because of all the problems with it
@thegodfreyspecial4238 жыл бұрын
I'm pretty sure he didn't actually drive the truck anywhere. Even a few short go-pro clips would have convinced me he actually sat in the drivers seat.
@ExpeditionPortal8 жыл бұрын
+Cory Grant I drove it 500 miles in the Arctic. We just did not have rights to the driving footage.
@thegodfreyspecial4238 жыл бұрын
+ExpeditionPortal Right on! What I wanted to elicit with that comment was whether or not you will be releasing the footage in a future show?

Give me a 4 cylinder turbo diesel 4x4 Tacoma with the 6-speed manual in a crewcab and I would be first in line to buy one.
@dlakerguy8 жыл бұрын
+opjoipopikopp[pl[p[ For 40k you could easily buy a barely used Tacoma 6 speed manual crew cab and order a turbo 4cyl diesel and have it installed professionally.
@ashtonhenson8 жыл бұрын
+Dale Couture where can I order a turbo diesel for a 2016 Tacoma?
@dlakerguy8 жыл бұрын
Ashton Henson Buy the motor. Sell the old motor from the truck. Pay someone to fabricate it to fit the transmission in the truck. You can easily do this all for 40-45k (what it would cost you to buy a toyota made turbo diesel tacoma if they made one.)

Scott, from a strictly off-road perspective do you prefer the Tacoma or the 4Runner? Or is it a coin toss?

Why is it you can only buy a trd in an access cab in Canada no double cab
@usmc11277 жыл бұрын
Is the trd pro taller than the off road version..?
@patjohnston52148 жыл бұрын
Will the TRD Pro be offered in an access cab with the 6 speed manual? Only asking because you can't get a 2016 TRD Offroad in that combination...
@kyleclayton55308 жыл бұрын
+Pat Johnston In Canada you can HA winning
@patjohnston52148 жыл бұрын
Would have been really nice to know this before I bought a used truck. I emailed Toyota, went to 2 dealers, called several others. Every fucking time "there's just no way to get an access cab 6 speed trd offroad" All this time the truck I want is a couple hours away across the border.

Halogen low beams in 2016, with LED Rigid lights?? Come on Toyota.
@jdhunt12848 жыл бұрын
Halogen = low repair costs. Have you ever had to replace a set of LEDs? Get your check book out. And don't tell me they won't fail because they are led. Anything that's mechanical will fail. I'll stick with my 6.99 halogen lights thanks . Right on toyota!!!

out of curiosity, how tall are you? the Pro looks like it sits up substantially taller than my TRD off road

+AdventuRide but holds its value more than any other vehicle. not just trucks
@squidrides63398 жыл бұрын
That's not statistically correct. Jeep Wrangler actually holds a better resale value than any other vehicle globally over the first five years according to Edmunds.com. Don't get me wrong, I owned a 06' 4x4 extended cab (with suicide doors) Tacoma and loved it. But I bought it new for $23,000.

Why do all new trucks always look like they have reverse rake? Am I the only one that think it looks bad? Like I see all these guys buy new trucks and to me they sit perfectly, slight forward rake when theres no load in the back, and it sits level with a medium load in the back..., then all these guys go and get "levelling kits" and jack ONLY the front up... and Im like okay now it looks stupid. Since when is reverse rake a good thing? And if a truck sits level with no load then it has reverse rake with any amount of load in it. I dont get it.. Its like in the last couple years suddenly it became cool for your truck to have rear end sag. Before people paid good money to FIX that.
@coryr99388 жыл бұрын
I totally agree, it looks really ugly and it's stupid. For me, most half ton trucks sit perfect, but Toyotas are definitely one of the bad ones. They don't know how to set up the height of a truck.

@jdhunt12848 жыл бұрын
Fuck the diesel! I don't want the maintenance costs and nobody else does.
@6806goats18 жыл бұрын
+jason hunt And you would be wrong in that assumption. There are many of us heavy duty truck owners who are waiting for a smaller diesel pickup that produces 30+ mpg. We'll see how the GM diesel experiment turns out. There are tons of Toyota diesel Land cruisers and Troop Carriers here in Afghanistan and just as many when I was in Iraq. They definitely know diesel engines but too many Americans remember the bad diesel days of the 80's.
