People don't want to grasp the fact that there are bikes, dirt bikes and dirt themed bikes. love you guys...

Most adventure bike riders never go off road.

As someone who's tried to ride a ZX10R down a few dirt roads, I can safely say the scrambler's design definitely has some function. Off road doesn't necessarily mean full on boon docking, lots of places you can take a scramble, you wouldn't take a sport or touring bike.

Fair comment.! Took one out a few weeks back and agree with most of what you say. At 5-11 and 17 stone i found the bike a bit cramped. How ever.! When i watched my video back i found i had been giggling like a school girl and came away loving it.!! Ok, its not got as much power as some would like but does it need it.?? Not in my opinion, i found it quite lively on our local back roads. Far better than both my 1200 Bandit and the Harley Nighttrain. My dilemma is the 800 Tiger is only a few hundred quid more and you get so much more bike for your money. Don't remember giggling as much on the Tiger though. Tim

I have seen lots of videos of Triumph street scrambler off road , not sure if they were in their right mind , as you say . They seemed to do ok light - mid off road /forest/ hill tracks , just not with the same gusto as a proper off road bike . Like i said lots of youtube videos just type in Triumph street scrambler off road

Rob Duncan in fact this is one of the only videos that doesn't take it off-road and doesn't review its off-road capabilities.

@The Bike Show I think the Motorcyclist Magazine crew did a proper off-road adventure with one of these and a ducati scrambler, they found it much more capable than you've mentioned. They did actual off-road testing instead of the "opinion" of a superbiker like Harry Fisher.

What more could you want? he asks. How about cross-spoked wheels. I wouldn't want a puncture going quickly on this. Beautiful-looking bike. Harry's a good rider. EDIT: I agree with the last bloke. The BMW for me, too.

I wonder if this leans farther than the Harley roadster?

Can’t go offroad? Ernie Vigil. Check out his scrambler videos. It’s not the bike. It’s the rider. I’d take it off road. Wouldn’t hesitate.

I guess I'm not in my right mind...because I take it on dirt and gravel roads as fast as my Tiger 800XCa all the time.

What do you think of this as a first bike?
@motolover56977 жыл бұрын
Nice review and I like you mentioned it is not a dirt or adventure bike. Why would one take it off the tarmac? It is certainly not meant for it.

The clue is in the word Street. If it was only called a Scrambler the off road comments would be fair. But given the state of the roads in the UK a Street Scrambler is probably ideal and appropriately named. Not ready to trade my Explorer though. Another bike I would not take off road!

I think the scrambler has enough off road ability for the gravel roads and very light trails I would use it on. I think its 90% street bike 10% dirt bike. An adventure bike is 50%-50% and a duel sport is 10% streetbike 90% dirt bike. Its suspension is more off road ready then the BMW but less then the Ducati desert sled. Its right in the middle and look and sounds the best. DISCLAIMER: This is my dream bike Also I have never driven a motorcycle and only recently decided I want one and thus have been doing a lot of reasurch. I do have a decent amount of time on ATVs though.

You'd be better off buying a Street Twin then - same engine. The high level muffler is what characterises the Triumph Scrambler. I think it looks fantastic.
