Good video! was the car not starting at all prior to the new starter motor being fitted? or was it just taking longer to crank? i have the same car and replaced the battery and tested glow plugs and they are all good so thinking it must be the starter.

thanks for the vid :D i'm looking to attempt my first starter replacement on my astra but keep getting offered both clockwise and anti-clockwise starters by the parts suppliers.. mine is a 2014 astra j 1.6 cdti (136) which im thinking will be very similar to the k in the video out of curiosity, did you buy the clockwise starter?
