+Ian Leonard I did not go with the stage 1 exhaust on this one. On my last bike I went that way, but after reading some forums, it looked lke the stage one actually hurt the power, so I am waiting for something aftermarket. As for the shocks, I stayed with stock for now. I don't have much of a problem with how it is.

+Rob Fox That's good to hear. I'll probably wait for aftermarket exhaust too. I'm just going to go for the analogue tachometer I think. If the shocks don't suit our roads I can always get them put on after.

I've read some of the scout aftermarket parts will fit the octane. I hope that's true . dirty bird concepts has an amazing 2 into 1 exhaust for scout.

Rylan Voss who owns the Vic Shop recently installed the new Trask two into one exhaust, Arlen Ness intake and PCV fuel controller and this Octane put out 111.65 HP and 82.75 TQ

I doubt dealers are going to come down on the price, at least not initial given the high demand. I really don't see this as a two up bike although people (young people) ride crouch rockets two up. I was surprise you cam off a Vegas because in sitting on a Scout after riding a Gunner the bike seemed small. That said all I've heard have been great reviews and I'm hoping to test ride one at some point this year. Enjoy and stay safe.

What's your mpg on it? That may be my semi-breaker considering the 3.4 gallon tank. I'm a smaller guy and as much as I'd like a 106, it's a little big for my size and was definitely looking at one of these as my new around town/long trip bike.

I have not really ridden it enough to know the actual mpg. I have only filled it up once. Assuming the dealer did fill it full, the gas light came on at 100 miles. I ride it to the gas station, which was about 13 miles away. I would guess you would be able to go about 120 - 130 miles. That's what I was getting with my Vegas. I was worried I'd be too big for it as well, but it fits me perfectly. I'm 5'9" and weigh about 280 (yikes).

+Rob Fox that's not bad for being in it's break in period and also having all that power. I'm on the opposite spectrum, I'm 5'8" but an unhealthy low weight of 125... but I dug everything about it when i sat on it at a dealer. Really tempted to go for it.

+CrashWanderer I love everything about this bike. My Vegas was very heavy and although I loved it, handling and power weren't really its strong points. This provides that and them some. I really don't think you would be disappointed with it.

+Rob Fox Thanks for the info, man! You're one of the few people on here that have one so it's nice to get some from other than magazine inputs and such. I can't wait to see what kind of exhaust will come for it. I'm partial to ground pounders but definitely want to give it a bass-y tone as well as be loud but not have the exhaust go out to the end of the bike.

+CrashWanderer Yeah, it is kinda fun, like a scavenger hunt trying to find good info, that's why I am trying to give as much as I can. from what I am hearing, some Scout after market parts fit the Octane, so fingers crossed, I can get something that sounds and looks badass. I am a little stuck though, because I am getting the two up (back seat) installed at the end of the month (my kid like to ride with me).
