We actually have this car, and the steering wheel icon is displayed on a screen. It is indeed yellow, but the camera being used probably wasn’t very accurate with the color.

I drove a Volvo XC90 in Scotland this summer and used this function and auto start. Really cool. Nice vehicle and a diesel

I've had the s90 R-Design for about 2 months now. I travel up and down the m6 every week and can honestly say the Pilot assist and Adaptive Cruise Control are a god send. I use it every time without a problem. I've never once felt it was trying to kill me and I've tested its capabilities, a lot. I would say the only issues I find is it will not slow down to take a steep bend automatically unless there's a car in front of you that slows down. On typical motorways though, I drove 60 miles without any input into the car on the m6. It just happens to be a massive bonus that its the comfiest drive I've had. The fuel savings are awesome too

I saw a video of a tesla where someone had the car drive a long distance road trip (just the highway portion) by itself. All he did was attach a light weight to the wheel so the car thought it was your hand holding on. I wonder how the volvo would do in that same scenario.

during self driving Infiniti Q50 does not force you to touch the steering wheel which is pretty awsome.

But Tesla's system was not a low speed only system like PA1 which is pretty much what Acura brought out in late 2013 on the 2014 MDX advance models. Not apples to apples. Sorry but reading he words of the Volvo R&D chief he said Level 3 which is what pilot assist 2 is a "unsafe solution"

Volvo is so far behind Tesla, which doesn't even need lane markings, but just the data it learned from the fleet.
