@@paitienceseraphine6928 You clearly have never been enlisted under a new officer straight off school. its not fun especially if you are a soldier with years of experience trying to follow a guy who have never been on active duty longer than military school. These guys are still green, there are a big difference between a enlisted soldier going officer and an officer coming directly from school. All vetaran soldiers will know and most of the enlisted will be the one suffering with an unexperienced school kid leading them. i am not mocking their achievements i am just saying what many enlisted guys are thinking watching these videos.

all will be Captains by 4 years time. Promotion to 1stLt is automatic after 2 years. Promotion to Captain is pretty much automatic so long as they don't make mistakes. From Capt on is subject to competition and performance.

After the Toss, the cadet hats are left for hundreds of children who wait on the side for the moment they can run in and grab a hat they can take home as a souvenir. Have to check when that tradition started.

They toss their old Cadet cover in the air and since they are now Officers they will be issued a new Officer cover. That is why it doesn't matter what happens to it since you will never wear it again.

They work very hard to prepare for graduation to make sure everything goes precisely. The moment we listen for is how First Caption responds to order to dismiss class, some years the response is simply "Yes Sir Beat Navy Sir", this year like a few years in past, the First Captain responded with "Yes sir" and the class motto, which is a memorable tradition. Any one know more on this amazing moment of West Point graduation.

The rank? In my country when graduated if good we get lieutenant. Most they all get second lieutenant for normal result. If better they may send us abroad to study and when comeback we may get captian ( dont know how to say Thương úy in english... )!

Hi, US Army standard is a year at 2LT then promotion to full LT. Promotion to Captain is 2-3 years later depending on assignment and performance. Captain to Major is a big 4-5 year leap and may involve study for a Masters Degree. Thank you for your interest. Hope Army's of our two countries will always be friends and trusted allies.
