i have the 2014 model ,have had it since it came out with ABS.With it's little flaws I love this bike unconditionally .The engine is just spectacular! For the front suspension issue you can adjust it and harden it from the upper bolt and it will be just fine!

Loved the video, and although the price has gone up a little bit it's still at a very good value point. I bought my MT09 Street Rally in August, I use it for 50+ mile commutes, weekend rides and lots of wheelies, with the akrapovic all it wants to do is wheelies and spit flames, it's such a fun "hooligan" bike, as good as the new one looks I don't feel the need to upgrade, admittedly I'm looking to upgrade to ohlins front and rear but probably would on the new one too. I definitely am going to have to test ride the new one and do a comparison though 🤔 although I do want that quick shifter...

I sold my 2015 R1 to go Supernaked because of a back injury on a Ducati a decade ago ,.. BUT debating between the $17,500 tuono Factory , and the $17,500 SDR,..I saw a random add for the upcoming yamaha FZ10 (MT10) and I was sold. I wanted to try the mt09 but got my new FZ10 at launch for nearly the price of the mt09!!! I couldn't pass and I'll tell you of A ton of bikes owned the MT10 was BY FAR my favorite!!! I weekend rode it, canyoned it, daily commuted it year round in Utah snow and sun, I tracked it and then rode it home,.. hands down the most fun bike I've owned , had it 2 years, not one problem, only got better and stronger as it went, 1 tip, best thing I did, $120 cat delete pipe!!!! Sounds straight up motoGP !!! With the big ole oversized airintake, the revrange and Ecu mapping it sounded better than my full system R1 . No joke, the grunt and mean grown of the CP4 is epic. Only sold for a damn divorce and never should have bit t will be the first home I buy an e act replica 2nd one. I bought it becaue of 44Teeth, sues review sold me!

I bought one and like you it makes me smile. it is so nimble and responsive on the throttle. the slipper clutch and the quick shifter add smiles again. The only downside is mine has taken 3k before the seat has softened. I also smile putting in a mode.

I'm thinking about switching my 2014 MT-09 to a 2017 Suzuki GSX-S1000. But after watching this video I am reminded how much fun the MT-09 is to ride. But the suspension on the 2014 model is not the best to say the least. At the twisties it's not very conficence inspiring, it feels a bit vague and as soon as you twist the throttle hard you lose the feel of the front. Though the GSX-S is a lot more powerful I think it needs a smaller front sprocket and maybe a bigger rear sprocket to make the power band more useful. Since at stock gearing it will do about 140 km/h on first gear, this means it will reach 8000 rpm at about 100 km/h and that's where the engine lights up but you will miss all the fun at lower speeds. I'm having a hard time choosing between keeping my MT-09 and getting a GSX-S.

Well, I decided to stick with my MT-09. I just ordered a Yoshimura R-77 exhaust system to it and I'm going to get the ECU flashed. That means I'm going to lose about 5-6 kg and gain some power and torque. I might do something about the suspension in the future as well. With all the mods I have the bike only weights around 180 kg wet after changing the exhaust. It's so light and it has so much low and mid range torque that it is almost impossible to get that thrill with an inline four. I just don't think the GSX-S1000 is worth 10 000€ more than my MT-09 because that's what I would have to pay after selling my MT-09. They are around 17 000€ new here and MT-09 2017 is about 12 000€

I learned to ride on a 1994 FZR600. I don't understand what is the big deal with Traction Control and ABS. At that time all we had was pre-load suspension. One should not use current technology as a crutch.

6Twisted ya know I was going to look into one at the launch and I found a dealership in California selling a NEW '17 FZ10 (us) for the price of the fz09! $9,200 OUT THE DOOR!!!! No dealer fees , nor stock fees, none of it,.. it was the steal of the decade for me! Dealers overstocked the Mt-10 in America to where you could steal one,..just a thought if looking to upgrade may find an MT10 sale price although going from an mt07 it would be safer to go mt09 . I went from a 2015 R1 to my 2017 FZ10 and it was perfect , so forget me and go uour mt09. Honesty I've never rode one and would love to try Jsut for kicks but honestly I'm so obsessed with the sound of the crossplane 4 ,...when decated sounds like an Aprilia v4 ,..heaven!! And wheelies on wheelies!

Do you guys set sag & clickers before you critique the suspension? I had a '14 FZ09, and was pretty happy with it after adding a Pensky shock, full exhaust and fueling changes. Happier still with my current '17 FJ09 with Ohlins F&R exhaust, aftermarket seat, etc. Prepping a new '16 R1 for track work. The Yamaha triple has more torque down low than the FZ10, to my butt dyno and feels a bit lighter. FZ10 wins in the corners and above~6-8K rpm. I still like the FJ better for the road, and hope to save most of the "spirited" riding for the track.

How's the seating position? Is it over the front or more upright like the MT-10? You said 'super-motard' like so I'm guessing it's upright. Prefer over the front like my Dragster, and that's what put me off the MT-10 when I test rode it.
