-2 Additional Auto or Chase Cards
-1 Base or 0° Celsius acetate Insert

Hogue was on the '92-93 NYI team and scored a SHG in the elimination Game 6 vs WSH and fought Pat Elynuik during the scrum that ensued following the "Late" hit on Turgeon. I remember that but I don't remember him playing in TOR and PHX. Very useful Center. Nice "P" for Plante there.

@@Fultoncards You know the commentor who chastised the manufactured patch concept must be impossible to please. All patches are manufactured with obviously the difference being game or event worn as opposed to being directly circulated or distributed into packs. Instead of making a miserable case for the manufactured ones we should be thrilled to death when we pull a game worn McDavid, Crosby, or Cody Hodgson jersey! In the Plante case I don't believe they wore names on sweaters back then did they? It would have to be manufactured.

I'd prefer the acetate/glass 0 Celsius cards over base. I get the tactile and suspense appeal of rip cards. But I'm not a huge fan, unless it reveals a real hit, as opposed to a base mini. It's just personal. I have an inherent aversion to destroying one of just four cards, in a mid to high-end product. I feel the same way about scratch bounties. If it were low-end OPC or MVP, I would be a fan. But, rips are interesting, to your point.

As long as you spell #TEXIER (not case sensitive) properly you will be in. I cut/paste through the YT comments search function. If there is a space or any error, I will not even see it.

Agreed. But. What’s good about any card. It’s all referential. Pettersson doesn’t have a Cup. Why chase his cardboard. Plante has six, and invented the position. Roy was a 3rd rounder. He has 3 C Smythes to match. I’ll take his manufactured base over Hart’s YG. But that’s just me. The hobby is a personal enterprise.

Exactly. You know. The main reason why I can't grow my subs is I wait for boxes like Chronology to come down significantly, as I don't want to contribute to the hyper-inflation within the hobby. So when all the initial group breakers watch online breaks to get a sense of what they are buying, my vids still won't be up for months, sometimes years! So I can't trend on YT via their algorithms. YT strongly rewards *early momentum* via suggested vids and search. Which further feeds hype, and thus sticker prices. But: I refuse to overspend. I wrote an extended negative review of the product on CardboardConnection. But, a mostly place the blame at the feet of consumers, as it relates to basic economics.

@@Fultoncards Other than the expired redemptions, I really enjoy the older product breaks. Sources are endless for new breaking products, but you've found a niche that is different than most others. I took a long break in collecting between the mid 90's and the mid 00's and you provide me the ability to see products I've never seen opened before. Hopefully more people will catch on to how well done your videos are and the great presence you bring to it personality-wise. Always great background music too!

Very kind of you to say. For me it's just a labour of love. I don't think there is any one way or reason to collect. I do believe this era of social media has cultivated an ostentatiousness and physiology around cards and card value. And that is fine. But I would like to believe a card is just a card! It's the stories behind why we care about players and their cards is where the true value resides. And the trappings, the failings in the hobby, the hyperinflation in boxes: To me, those relate to the gambling and trolling. I'm 100% cool with group breaker and retailer profit; we represent a large market. But, I believe in reasonable multipliers, educated/methodical consumers, and remembering why cards matter in the first place. It is not about throwing good money after bad. It is about one's own personal engagement and stories. Mine go back to waiting by the side door of the Forum, and the Flower barely signing because my Bic pen ink had frozen in minus 20C weather!
