the yz has the most user friendly motor, good low end. KTM, it screams on top. And tbh, ive ridden the yz forks, there are good, but so are the ktm airforks. have you actually ridden them? actually feel like you are riding on clouds man. sooooo nice. ride stock kx450f air forks, oh man, they feel like they don't move. so stiff in the worst ways possible. hands are dead after the first set of braking bumps

I raced Motocross in the Mid to late 70's so much improvements in suspension .. Sounds to me like any of these 6 are darned good.. I have owned mostly Yamaha but Honda always turned the best and back in the day had better fit and finish .. they were a lot more affordable back then .

Have any of you ridden a KTM, if you look in years past they completely change the bike 2-3 yrs apart while other brands stay the same for 5-10 years just shows what manufacturer has better research and development I'd rather ride a KTM a few years old than a brand new Japanese manufactured bike. Yes while KTM has been a joke into the early 2000's there is no denying they are and have been at the head of the class for a few years now. If you're trying to race a 2 stroke competitively at any level and don't have support KTM is the way to go way lighter way faster and an updated chases like the factory editions we see.

funny the yamaha revs longer on top than the ktm way better suspension yet they act like the ktm is better. also ppl I know that bought ktms dont seem to last long as where yamaha seems to be way more reliable and last a lot longer. any of these bikes can be good just rider adjustments.

The Yamaha doesn't rev near as long on the top and it is almost 20 pounds heavier than the ktm or husky and doesn't feature an electric start and if the bike isn't lasting your not taking proper care of it

Aiden Ranney apparently you need to do your homework on the 2018 yamaha and or ride 1 and the ktm. The yamaha does come with a electric start also the only bike with wifi technology revs higher and so on.

For everybody complaining that the Honda was the most changed and still didn't win. You have to realize this. Every single time a company does a complete overhaul of a bike. They spend the next couple years tweaking it to make it better and work out the kinks. Just because it is the most changed doesn't mean anything.

HawkeyeOfTheSky 😂😂😂 I can see why you say that but look at it from this point of view. When Yamaha released their 2017 YZ250F, the bike came with more mid-range punch, which made the power curve more linear and consistent. So it benefits beginners so they won’t get random bursts of power like the shitty KTM (similar to a 2 stroke) because you don’t want to be stabbing the clutch the whole time if you don’t have confidence and technique, you can just roll on and the power is there immediately. Obviously if someone has never ridden a dirtbike or even a normal bike before, they shouldn’t go with a Yamaha, because whiskey throttle on a Yamaha will get you into some serious shit. But if your throttle control is decent then the Yamaha can be a good beginner bike.

KTM’s are made with the cheapest metal available to become lighter, Yamaha uses magnesium on the clutch cover Ktm uses pot metal, yes the Japanese bikes might weigh more but look, almost no one watching a review is a pro, my advice is avoid Suzuki, ktm and husky. Honda,Yamaha, and Kawasaki are very close in terms of power and they’re really hard to break with proper maintenance. I rode ktm for a very long time and yes they’re fast but there unreliable and motocross is fucking expensive and random shit breaking isn’t a selling point, same goes for the Suzuki the clutch is essentially silly putty the valves are shit and it’s a slow bike. The remaining 3 are good bikes overall and they offer a good platform to make faster
