I never thought you could get a 5 cylinder to sound 99.99% identical to a V10 but that drive by changed my mind.

It sounds 99.999% similar because it's the same thing. With the V10 in the R8, you have dual exhaust out of the 2 cylinder banks -- this engine is just that engine chopped in half and turbo'd, so you're literally hearing the same thing with a turbo thrown in the mix.

Firing order plays it's part in making the sound of engines. 458 w stock exhaust sounds like a civic, bmw m1 procar sounds like a lower pitched 599 gto, db11 v12 exhaust sounds like a higher pitched rb26. This sounds like a rougher, deeper sounding v10.

I agree firing order does play a role no doubt. But a v10 firing order is 1,6,5,10,2,7,3,8,4,9 and the 5 cyl firing order is 1,2,4,5,3. My point is people can say it sounds like a v10 all they want but it doesn't. It has its own unique sound not saying it sounds bad im just saying it doesn't have f1 sound that the 5.0 v10 puts out. Its much deeper and tone is much different. If anything it sounds more like a 5.2 v10 than it does the 5.0 v10. The 5.2 is odd firing and the 5.0 is even firing.
