@GlitteratiLive4 жыл бұрын
Lovely review. The TT does not reference a bike, though ... it references the NSU TT, a car by one of the companies that merged into Audi. The NSU TT does get its name from the Isle of Man TT race, but included cars back in the day.

The bigger issue with runflats isn't noise or ride harshness. If you hit a pothole or debris that bends a wheel, knocks tire off the bead or does more damage than a simple puncture, you will be stranded.

what's the ground clearance of A4 vs TT vs R8? Would be good to know the difference for Canadian winter
@FamilyWheels6 жыл бұрын
I didn't look into ground clearance but I have to say, the TT was very liveable. We have a curb on our driveway that can be problematic with some performance-oriented cars that we've tested. No problem in the TT though.

White, grey, or red. 3 choices with competition package on base model tt . TTs and Rs offer more color choices. Audi really limits you with certain packages. No more brilliant black for 2019. Mythos Black instead. Only the RS allows a spoiler delete option...etc. Ugh. Still trying to configure a 2019 tts that I like.

A very smart reviewer once said there is no such thing as a sports car with a transversely mounted engine . I totally agree with that. Still a VW Golf even in the overpriced TT RS guise. Great for the older crowd that can't drive as its all wheel drive system makes you look like a hero.

The A5 starts at $42,800 and TT $43,950(USD), crazy huh? It's probably cheaper because the A5 has a manual transmission but Audi drops all manuals for the 2019 US models.

I own an MK2 and would upgrade to a high spec mk2 before considering the mk3. The comments about the MK2 are off IMO. The mk3 lost too much of the curvy style and design that made the TT known and popular. No way you'll drive a TT Mk2 and think you're driving an A3 hatchback.

I just drove test a 2017 TT quoattro with 2000 miles on it, and it is a joke, noisy car with no power. You are only getting 220 horse power. I had 2009 Subaru and was getting 250 horse power, and my current 2014 VW Passat TDI is more powerful. I know it is not a sport car, but am getting more power from it. The audit TT is Not worth the money.
@FamilyWheels6 жыл бұрын
I would definitely push into the S... or even RS models to boost up the performance.
@davisflyer6 жыл бұрын
That TT with 220 hp will still hit 60 in 5.2 sec, so it's no slouch. For most people that's quick enough to be entertaining. The TTS is about a second quicker still if you really need more power. I will agree that the TT line is too expensive.
