So so so important when you’re re-fitting the glass take out the speaker to inspect and ensure the glass slots into the INNER rubber NOT the outer rubber (the mistake I did) it goes up and down . If you accidentally slide the glass into the outer rubber , it will NOT WORK right .

The adhesive remains sticky and you can just press it back on

Thanks mate not done anything like this for about 15 years used to work in a bodyshop so not totally band new, only advise I'd give is take some pictures before dismantling so you can see which cables go in front of others

With the door handle trim start from the bottom. There is a slot at the bottom for a pry tool to go into.

Firstly, thanks for the video I've just completed the regulator swop. All is good, however, I noticed that the end of the glass (would be beside you when sat in car and the tallest side) is not as far back as the passenger side is now by about 3 or 4mm? The front of the glass is in the rubber guide so I don't understand why? There is no rubber guide at the end of the door side. The glass height is fine and the auto sealing when closing door is working? Do I need to adjust it somehow back towards the rear of the car by 3-4mm? Problem is, if I do then it won't meet the rubber guide at the front side of the door? (At least i don't think it will?).

Just wondering. Does the f21 2016 3 door have the same door as an f22 3 door. Found a second hand door as someone has reveresed on my door. Apparently it does fit. Which modules also mate would I need to swap around in order to retain central locking?

My window don't fully go up on f21, I've been told it'll need to be adjusted on the cog or runner, previous owner replaced after someone broke in. Any one know how to adjust?

Great video.. You say anti clockwise for the cogs that hold the window but it's actually clockwise to loosen. Tried for ages anticlockwise was listening to what you were saying rather than watching what you were doing where you turn them anticlockwise.

Sorry for the late reply I have not been well. To be honest the seal on mine was very sticky and stuck back on. But for good measure I put so strong duct tape too. Thanks for watching really appreciate it.

Hi mate that 10mm you have to go through side of door do you have to put the stud on the regulator at the centre or to the left or right ?

Thanks for the video, however the bit I had the issue with was; getting the regulator in place, which is not shown nor do you mention that you need to remove the motor & bracket from the frame. When I removed the old one it fell apart so I did not see and I was trying to install it as one piece and could not work out initially why the motor would not go where it was supposed to. 🤪

i have a 2017 218i and had quite a few problems to be honest. bought it at 14500 miles now at 33000 and have had to replace the steering rack, rear light fitting, and now have the same issue as the one in the video. has put me off buying a bmw in the future tbh. luckily steering rack replacement was covered under warranty or would have been around £5k.

Local independent specialist trying to charge £450 for window regular replacement claiming its 2.5 hours labour, and around £650 if the motor needs replacing at the same time. No wonder people don't trust garages much anymore, I'm buying the part for £100 online for my 218i and replacing it myself.

@@tiyapondhlovu257 I bought the part online, just come into the house after trying to attempt it and let me tell you, this video makes it look bloody easy. My window is stuck in the up position, if you look at 7:14 in this video, those big star bolt things that he talks about using the "big dogs" on, are almost impossible to take off, they are so hard to reach and extremely tight. Had to put the door card back on and now very pissed off with myself that I couldn't do it.
