Really appreciate that it is still RWD based. Great dynamics

The M40i is best SUV in its class! And I never experienced any issues with BMW in the past. I’ve owned 4 of them.

maurokatzoni Could you comment on the space for back seat passengers as well as trunk space? Thank you
@ScottParisi2 жыл бұрын
@@HamishCarpenter, I have a 2019 M40i and the rear cargo space is really good. As for the second row, the front seat has room for feet underneath and at 5'10", the people sitting behind me have knee space. I will say, however, I don't think the back door opens wide enough for less nimble passengers. Hope that helps.

Sister just got a 2018 X3 and loves it. iDrive is taking some time to get used to but everything feels of quality and it handles great.

looking to buy one used, has she had any issues with it?
@MacSaab932 жыл бұрын
@@irrayplaceable1858 It was a lease she got rid of it last year. The only issue she had was a check engine light that came on due to a recall on some sensor. Easy fix and was fine after. Only had 27k miles on it when she turned it in for what it's worth.

whenever I see them do the test segments on that Closed down Dragstrip, for as long as it has been Officially Closed down, the pavement still looks in pretty good condition, thats probably because of how Motorweek still uses it quite often, but on the other side of the walls, that area has really overgrown with weeds or whatever over all of the past years......

Was the test driver listening to Gun's and Roses? Looks like Appetite for Destruction on the infotainment screen, lol.

ummmmm, why don't u guys just performance test both or all the models when doing a feature, instead of showing us the HIGH PERFORMANCE model as a part of the feature and then showing us the performance #'s "VOLUME" model?
@lenwoodcruze35946 жыл бұрын
93remix just wondering:why did you type out "ummmmm"? What purpose does that serve?

Lenwood Cruze Uhhhhh, because I knew you would respond. U fell 4 it

Yep,no logical reason.

Lenwood Cruze annnnd, logically... YOU'LL KEEP RESPONDING TO IT, I guess it serves as a trivial banter on your behalf

$43,000 isn’t bad, but $55,000 is a tough pill to swallow. I’d stick to the base model and maybe (if possible) add some stand alone options (pano sunroof, Apple CarPlay) and leave it at that. If you don’t mind the X1’s awkward dynamics and cheapish interior it’s probably a better buy at $45,000

How long would this BMW be lasted?

Base X3 is fine, they should have spent more time talking about how incredible the M40i trim/powertrain is, 0-60 in 4.4!? Seems like the motor week team is losing their touch.

Wait... M40i = 3.0 liters engine And XDrive30i = 2.0 liters engine??? Why isn't the naming scheme as comprehensive as having a 4.0 l engine on the M40i and a 3.0 l engine on the Xdrive30i?!?
@Soorma19886 жыл бұрын
Danilo Munhequete - Good Point you bring up. I think because the main rival Audi has their base engine called 2.0 so BMW didn’t want to call their base engine cars 20i also. Plus let other people on the road think it’s a 4.0 litre engine with the M40i ;)
@sliknik10256 жыл бұрын
Because older models already have the same “higher model name lower engine size” idea implemented. They don’t want people to see the new car has smaller number in its name compared to old one. I thought X5 50i had a 5 liter V8, until I looked it up one day and it has a 4.4 twin turbo V8. But 50 sounds better than 44. And older X5 had 4.8 V8 so they went from 4.8 badge to 50.

Love this BMW X3 M40i my next vehicle. Was thinking about subscribing until you posted that Co2 nonsense. You know plants and trees need co2 to produce oxygen taking it away could kill plants and humans

More than 40 BMW's have caught on fire in South Korea alone in 2018 (Jan ~ Aug) and BMW has been AWFUL with treating their customers. Massive lawsuits. Worse still, BMW has known about these fires (mostly Diesels in BMW 5-Series) for YEARS and has only this year started to do something about it because of the press coverage. I was such a big fan on BMW and as I much as I like this X3, it's going to be Merc GLC or Audi Q5 for me...

The exterior design is just so boring and disappointing for a brand new model. It even makes the Q5 look good. Not sure BMW will have as much success as it did with the previous X3.
