Picking up this beauty later this week. Went to BMW to test drive the 4 series. Didn't even make it to the 4 series. Walked in and the X6 was sitting right there. A lot of people said to get the X5 but I love this X6. X5 is more like a family SUV. I'm married with no kids so I want something a little sporty. I'm petite (5'1 and 105 lb) so I don't have issue with the head room. I fell in love with it when we took it on the highway and went through the loop. OMG...you cannot go wrong with this car. It has everything you ever need and more. I'm a life long fan of Acura and Lexus but switching for the 1st time. :)

Some of these comments are just silly...smh All this talk about reliability. Most luxury car buyers are not keeping these cars putting 50-100K miles on them. Also most modern cars are more reliable than the previous years. Most of the car videos are kids parroting things they've read or overheard, but have no real world experience with any of these vehicles. Everyone is not going to buy a Lexus, Toyota and/or Honda. Just get over it.

You are so right about it. Before I purchased my 2018 x6 50i, I went through a lot of reviews and compare this car with a lot of others in the similar price range, so at least I was aware of the exhaust sound, the power, the maintenance fees, insurance costs and so forth. MB interior design is full of "shiny metal circles" and believe me, they are not as beautiful (except the AMG S63, difference price range though). As for the operation, reliability and durability, I can't say much since it is my first BMW. I totally love this vehicle I have to say. Then, 5 month after I got my car, I bought my son a BMW M4, it's a very different car and offer us a different driving experience. So I don't understand why people say all BMW are the same. Again, love your comment. Thanks!

Personally I think the X6M is a solid performance SUV for ones money, however I really don't want to say this but the sound of BMW M's 4.4 liter Twin Turbo charged V8 doesn't really have the desire V8 sound for me through the exhaust system. I would like to ask this question for people who have owned or currently own the X6M, is the sound of V8 better in person then what we hear through video audio?, thank you!. As an AMG person I will honestly say that the X6M is well worth its price tag, the interior, the exterior, and the performance can be justified by it!, granted I've never driven the car.

AMG_CivicKindaguy 101 I would say it sounds louder at start up than in the video much more. It’s cool even I’m using start stop in efficient mode in traffic too. Gets a fair amount of attention. My gf owns a 17 x5m. However the trans is jerky when you start to move from the mimicking of a dct. Gets worse on a hill start. See sofyans start for example. Good car but def not worth the money.

Stephen Hou hey thanks for your input!😀, I have to say though I slighty disagree with your opinion about the X6M price and worth, I only say it’s worth the price because of the brand, the power you get, what class the vehicle falls in and the demand for the X6M, oh also it still has a solid interior, it’s just not as updated as say Audi’s interiors with their virtual cockpit, none the less it’s a BMW and M product so you pay for the name, performance, and amenities that come with this SAV🤓

Andy Olarra honestly I’ll like both the X6M and X5M but if I was forced to choose one I’d take the X5M, mostly because you have a little more headroom in the rear for storage as well as rear passengers, as for price well they both cost over 100k brand new, I’m not sure about used, they probably go for about 80k-90k used?, and I can’t compare powertrain/drivetrain, since they are the same, and sound, but the X5M is probably more desirable by people who are looking at sports performance SAV’s/SUV’s🤔

AMG_CivicKindaguy 101 the x6m is very tame from the stick exhaust configuration. My e63 Amg was an absolute dream to hear. I have test drive the new x5m and loved the exhaust note.

Pretty much every luxury brand, similarly, employs interior design language that permeates the entire lineup. I do agree that BMW probably does the worst job of it, but all brands share an aesthetic between models. Consistent design language is basically the brand's signature.

As an ex owner of 4 BMWs, I can safely say that BMW's engineering quality has fallen apart the past few years along with their cars that came out of warranty. On top of that, it is super expensive to purchase, maintain, and repair them. Reminds me of Apple and their new "complete glass phones" that shatter if you drop it once. THEY WANT YOU to come back and service it for $$$$ each visit.

So many people complaining about reliability. No matter the vehicle, if you take care of your vehicles and they will take care of you. Of course there will be a difference between some vehicles reliability. But, that comes with extra performance or lower price. Can't expect an engine to last as long as if you're squeezing as much power as possible out of it (without upgrading internals of course).

Soyfan knocks the interior for being older and "outdated," but I disagree. I think BMW is doing a good thing by keeping with their timeless interior design. While Audi is overdoing it with all the touchscreen bullshit in the A6 and A8, BMW is staying relatively traditional and I love and respect that.

The more I consider the mentality that 'I can't afford it', the more I remind myself that engineering & manufacturing costs determine the price of a vehicle while that cost is kept down by competition in the free market. So, the problem is not that the price is too high, it's that I'm not making enough money, so I focus on changing THAT instead. Once your income starts going up, everything becomes more affordable.
